Ashley was back on the train to once more. She sat, restless, in her seat, constantly looking out the window. Why was it taking so long for the train to arrive in Brooklyn?

After what seemed like forever and a day, she arrived and she practically ran into the glass doors that almost didn't open quick enough for her.

Taylor stood on the platform in a cute red skirt, a yellow jacket and a white top covered in little flowers. If anyone was going to be opposite to Ashley, it would be Taylor. Ashley was nothing like Taylor but somehow they worked. It had been almost two months since their first encounter and every day since then, the two girls had met up in Brooklyn. Every single day.

"Hey!!" Taylor waved at Ashley.

Ashley went over to her and gave her a quick hug "Hi!"

"Oh, I got you a present" Taylor took something small from her purse and placed it in Ashley's hand. It was a lighter.

Ashley laughed "Oh my god, thank you, i've been going without a cigarette for two weeks, i've been dying for one!" she hugged the other girl again.

Taylor chuckled "Well, go and have one, silly."

As they left the station, Ashley took out the packet of cigarettes and went to light a cigarette, which yet again refused to light.

"Here, let me" Taylor took the lighter from Ashley's hand and lit the cigarette for her. Ashley took a drag and sighed with satisfaction as she blew out the smoke.

"Ahhhh, thank you Taylor."

Taylor gave a small smile "You're welcome."

"So how are you?" Ashley asked, taking another drag.

Taylor shrugged "Okay I guess, I mean..." she sighed "he came to my house and tried to reconcile but I completely turned him down. We had loved each other without reason and it just didn't feel right, you know? I just don't want any boy in my life anymore, i'm so sick of boys. I swear to god, for every lie I tell them, they tell me three."

She slumped down onto the nearby bench "I mean, everytime I tell myself 'he's the one' and then he turns out to be just like the rest. I see the moon, but they're looking at the stars. I see blue but they see red. I try to make purple but they want green. God, I feel like a whore, going through all these boys but it's not my fault."

Taylor finished with a groan.

Ashley just hugged her "Hey, it's not your fault, it's theirs. They keep leaving you. That's their problem."

"I know, but I still feel like a whore" she leaned into Ashley's chest and sniffed.

"Please don't cry" Ashley whispered. She felt so sorry for Taylor. She was just human and she wanted love but somehow, love hasn't found her yet.

"Boys only want love if it's torture" Taylor muttered.

"Boys are fucking idiots Taylor, the whole fucking lot of them" Taylor smiled slightly. She wasn't used to people swearing and the colourful words just fell out of Ashley's mouth in all the right places and she liked it.

"That's true" she sat up and looked at Ashley.

"Hey, I told you i'm always right."

Taylor smiled again and hugged Ashley "You always make me smile Ash, thank you."

Taylor went quiet for a bit before speaking again "Hey, wanna go to my house?"

Ashley nodded and smiled "Sure!"

Taylor got up and grabbed Ashley's hand "Let's go."

Taylor led Ashley through Brooklyn, among the busy streets with busy lives, among the shining lights, among the brick lanes, passing villages aglow and lovers with umbrellas until they got to Tribeca to a massive apartment block.

"Come on, i'm number 13" she practically dragged Ashley up the steps, who was too busy gazing at the town, which aesthetically pleased her in so many ways.

"I love where you live" she breathed out as Taylor fished in her purse for her key.

Taylor smiled "Me too, it's quiet."

She opened the door and beckoned Ashley in.

"Dibbles? Liv?" She called out to her cats, which Ashley heard about practically every time they met.
Meredith (or Dibbles) came into the hallway and gazed up at Taylor, who picked her up "Hi baby! Hi!"

Ashley looked around the hallway. It was small and the stairs took up most of it. A mirror hung on the wall at the bottom of the stairs with a pair of red heels discarded beneath it. There was a door to her left, leading into a living room and a door in front of her, leading into a kitchen.

"Mere, this is Ashley! Say hi" Taylor held the cat out to Ashley, who gently stroked the cat's head

"Hi Meredith!" Ashley smiled.

Taylor smiled when the cat didn't attack her "She likes you!!" she placed the cat back on the floor and told Ashley to come into the kitchen.

"Hey, wanna make cookies?" Taylor asked suddenly, her eyes shining.

Ashley couldn't help but giggle "Yes, i'd love to!"
