We finish putting up Christmas decorations outside and now it's time to decorate the inside with a tree and even more lights, oh joy another 2 and a half hours, I mean at least I'm with Drew, that's all I could ask for this Christmas since everyone else is gone. He's the only thing I have left, I'm just glad the Goods' family took me in. Mr Goods doesn't know that I'm staying here yet, but he'll find out soon.

Looking at all of these Christmas ornaments makes me think of my family again.

"Um, Mrs. Goods, do you think that maybe I could bring a few ornaments from my house over here and put it on the tree here?"

"Of course you can sweetheart!"

Drew comes with me to go and get the ornaments and a few other decorations that my mom always puts up. As I'm looking in my Christmas boxes, I see the picture that my mom always puts up around the holidays. The picture is in a frame, the frame is beautiful because it was made by mom with tinsel made especially for the holidays. I grab the photo and just stare at it, well I stare at my mom, dad, and my sister, and I wish I could have them back, but I can't .

"Hey, are you okay," asks Tristan. He must've seen me looking down for a while.

I start choking up. "Yeah, I guess so."

Drew comes over to me and hugs me from behind. "You know I never realized how much you look like your mom."

"Yeah," I nod at him. I get told that I look like my mom all the time.

Drew comes up in front of me and kisses me. "I'm so sorry Casey, you didn't deserve any of this."

"It's um it's not okay,but I mean I'll move on."

"I'm here for you okay? I love you."

"I love you too." Drew and I just kiss for a while then we grab the ornaments and go back to his house.

"Put anything you have anywhere you want sweetheart," says Mrs. Goods sweetly.

"Thank you so much."

Drew and I put up the rest of the decorations and then we drank another glass of hot chocolate.

"Well Casey Rae?"

" Drew."

"I love you so much."

"I bet I love you more." Drew kisses me.

"We're going to spend this Christmas together Casey okay?"

 "Okay."

"Hey sweetheart, I have a question for you. Are you okay with living with us, or would you like to move in with one of your relatives? Because if so I have to sign a few papers and so do you," asks Mrs. Goods.

I look over at Drew. "Would you be okay if I stayed here, I mean it's up to you Mrs. Goods."

"Honey of course you can stay with us."

"Thank you so much Mrs. Goods, I really really appreciate it," I smile. She nods her head and walks away.

"Um Casey, I don't know if this would be too soon but we're going to need to start cleaning out your house and moving and selling things."

"Um can we just get it over with now?"

 "Yeah sure."

We head over to my old house and start looking through things and we make seperate piles for things to take over to Drew's and things to sell. I find the blanket that my mom made for me when I was little and hold it tight and silently cry into it, somehow it still smells like her. I feel a pat on my shoulder and I see that it's Drew. Drew wipes my tears away and kisses me on my cheek and then gets back to sorting things.

Once there's a massive pile of stuff on the ground, Drew and I head out into the main street and put up signs saying garage sale pointing towards my old house.

We set up everything and then just wait until a car comes. One hour later a red pickup truck pulls up in front of the driveway.

"Hello," says Drew to the stranger.

 "Hi?"

"Are you looking for anything in particular?"

"Furniture, blankets, anything for my teenage daughter."

Drew showed the man some of the furniture, blankets, and even some clothes. The man bought five hundred dollars worth of things.

I smile at Drew. "We're doing well aren't we?"

"Yes we are," he smiles back.

Drew and I kept making more and more money. I looked down the street to see if we were going to get any other customers, and I saw a white van drive past our neighborhood. It's not like I can suspect someone bad in a white van I mean other people own white vans.

Drew and I start selling things again and then I keep seeing the same white van circle around and around. I just keep looking out into the street when finally I see that the white van stopped right in front of my neighborhood.

I tap Drew on the shoulder. "Hey, Drew that van has been circling the neighborhood for like three hours," Drew looks over to where the van is and his eyes widen.

"We have to get everything packed right now, we have to get inside immediately."

Drew and I start packing everything while I glance over my shoulder every few minutes praying to God that the man in the van wouldn't come any closer.

After everything is packed, we go inside my house and lock all of the doors, windows, and close all of the blinds. Drew and I sit sunken down by the window so that way the guy couldn't see us. This reminded me of my elementary school lock down where we would just sit there in fear until they told us it was a practice drill, except this time it isn't a practice this is real and I'm scared out of my mind.

"Hey, we'll be alright as long as the guy stays in his v-" Drew didn't even get to finish his sentence because then we heard the door trying to be rammed open.
