THUD
I stood stock still barely daring to breathe. My heart was racing in my chest. In what seemed like the hours after Claire and the others left I curled up in the dark hoping whatever-whoever was out there would mistake me for a pile of blankets.
THUD
Who was that? I thought, whatever it was I needed to be ready to run. Could I make it outside? Where would I go? No the safest bet was in the house. When the coast was clear I needed to-
THUD
Crapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrap it's getting closer, okay Avery 3, 2, 1,
I slowly rose preparing to sprintTHUD THUD
I made I beeline for the other side of the room my foot catching on the step between the living room and the dining room. Barely letting that stop me I kept running even though it felt as if my toe fell off. I knew nothing of pain then. ( And you still don't )
THUD
I slid into the nearest room then slammed the door. The force of my turn threw me against an oddly shaped solid object in the tiny room. Oh it's a toilet. Quickly I fumbled in the dark for the lock and found it just as the stomps were at their loudest.
THUD THUD
I gasped and my heart leaped into my throat as I spotted a pair of unearthly yellow eyes staring at me through the mirror. Oh it's just Trudy I thought breathing a sigh of relief and admonishing myself for being such a scardy-cat ( haha ) I had worse things to be afraid of.
THUD
The glow of a flashlight illuminated the floor of the bathroom, and my MLP Applejack socks ( Gosh could you pick a more embarrassing footwear to be killed in? ) CRAP they know I'm in here! I listened as the lock began to slowly turn, and with a word a bit stronger than crap I pushed against the door as hard as I could. I could just barely keep the door closed and I was quickly tiring, so I let go and stepped away as a small figure tumbled to the ground. I could just barely see the gleam of a large kitchen knife in the flickering glow of a flashlight losing battery. Regardless I snatched the flashlight up and as carefully as possible ran out the back door and into the yard ( why didn't you think to take the KNIFE? That's what I would have done. ) I don't know, this is a horror book! Now let me continue. My god forsaken socks soon were soaked through and my feet were in agony because of the eight inches of snow. Have you ever ran for your life through the snow in just your socks? I can tell you it's not pleasant. I say ran, but it was more of a stumble. Anyway, I barely made it 10 feet, ( That's REALLY impressive. And for your information I ran ten miles through a blizzard barefoot ) I stand corrected. Anyway, I barely made it the feet when I heard the figure treading behind me at a fast pace. Too soon they overcame me and stabbed me in the leg with the knife they were holding earlier.
(🎉CONTINUITY!🎉) You need to take this seriously. This is my death we're talking about here! ( Sorry I can't help myself ) Ugh back to the story. I was in an agony I had never felt before in my entire life. I felt as if my life was draining out of me with every heart beat. Tears streamed down my face and I screamed with the force of a thousand- ( It was only a leg wound, you humans are so weak. Why didn't you regenerate? ) Well most people can't. Obviously it's been a while since you've been to the living word. besides didn't you die from a leg wound? ( No an enemy ripped off my entire leg. And watched as I slowly bled to death. That's hardly the same ) Whatever. Don't interrupt again. Now where was I? Right. I was knocked to the ground and forcibly dragged to the very edge of the pool. Before my weight broke through the ice, I looked up at my murderer finally glimpsing their face. "No! It can't be!" I gasped as I took one last breath in the living world and plunged into darkness. (Ooo a cliff hanger! Are we done now? I have other brats to deal with)
