"Phil! Phil!" I faintly heard Dan calling my name, but was I going to move anytime soon? Nope. I was still a bit tired from last night's Tumblr exploring, so I wasn't going to get up anytime soon. At least, that's what I thought until a pillow hit me square on the face. "Ugh. Daaaaaaan...." "Come on, Phil! It's Christmas! Besides, I want to hang out with you before you leave." Oh yea. I have to leave. When? Meh. I'll decide on that in a bit.
I gingerly sat up in bed, only to have a pillow again connect with my face. "Dan! I'm up!" I heard giggling as I rubbed my eyes, clearing the sleep from them. I opened them to see Dan sitting by my side on the bed, a pillow still in his hands. "Hit me again and you won't be happy." He pouted and tossed the pillow back to the headboard. However, his poutiness didn't last long, for he soon started jumping up and down on the bed, chanting "Christmas. Christmas. Christmas." I rolled my eyes and got out of bed, heading to my room to grab stuff for a shower. "I'll be back in a few. Just going to grab my shower stuff." "Ok! Christmas. Christmas. Christmas." I firmly shut the door on Dan's chanting and went back to my room. I grabbed my usual stuff plus some mismatching Christmas-themed socks and a Christmas jumper.
After our typical shared shower, Dan and I swiftly got dressed so we could eat breakfast. "Look, Dan! I've got a Christmas jumper!" Dan started laughing at my not-so-beautiful sweater with a UFO above a city skyline. "Hey. At least I'm not wearing all black." "It's not an act of laziness, it's a lifestyle." I rolled my eyes and we promptly left the locker rooms. A few minutes later, we entered the cafeteria, which was fully decked out in wreaths and holly. Dan and I ran over to the food and saw that they had special Christmas items for breakfast. There was figgy pudding with cream, ham, hot cross buns, peppermint and chocolate yogurt, and the regular cereals, eggs, and bacon.
I snagged a hot cross bun along with some fruit and sat down with Dan. "Well, Phil. We have an important decision to make." I looked up at him, confused. "Do we open each other's presents before you leave, or after you come back?" "I need to leave soon, I'm afraid, so is it ok if we do it once I get back." "Yea, sure." I smiled at him, grateful that he understood. We soon finished our breakfasts when employees went around, handing everyone a Santa hat. After Dan and I received them, we put ours on, but Dan laughed at me. "What?" "Yours has a zebra pattern on it. That looks too sassy for you!" "Well excuse me, but I can be very sassy." Dan raised one eyebrow at me and smirked, obviously not convinced. I shook my head and sassily pouted at him, thinking it would work. Obviously not, for Dan erupted into another round of laughter. "Oh come on!"
We were hanging out in Dan's room right before I left. We were finishing up an episode of Free! before I had to grab my parents' presents and head to the car. As the credits rolled onscreen, Dan audibly sighed. "Well, I guess it's time for you to leave." "I know. I'm sorry, Dan. I wish I could've brought you with me instead of leaving you here all alone." No sooner had I said that when someone knocked on the door. Dan stood up and walked over. I turned around and put on my shoes when I heard Dan say, "Adrian?"
I whipped my head around to see the boy from the restaurant standing at the door. Automatically, I jumped up, went over to Dan, and protectively put an arm around him. "What do you want, Adrian? Anything you'll say to Dan, you'll have to say to me." Adrian looked down at his shoes and said, "Dan. I am no longer associated with our parents." Dan stared at him, wide eyed. I was doing so, too. "What do you mean?" Dan asked. "I got mad at Mom and Dad after the restaurant incident, and they said they wouldn't have a son who supported you. So, I packed my suitcase and moved everything back to my dorm room." Dan shrugged off my arm and walked over to Adrian, firmly enveloping him in a hug. I happily turned around, put on my other shoe, and squeezed by them to go back to my room.
After grabbing my keys, wallet, and gifts, I walked to the front of the building, passing Dan and Adrian who were still hugging. I signed out, walked out of the building, and hurriedly started the car in the cold, Christmas air. Boy was it freezing. In no time, the car was warm on the inside, and I began the 30 minute drive to my parents' house. On the way, I loudly sang to Twenty One Pilots, My Chemical Romance, Muse, and whatever else was playing on my playlist I created a few years ago. Some people might have given me some strange looks whenever I reached a stoplight... Oh well.
