Fame certainly didn't change you. But it changed the way people treated you. Glancing up at you, your green eyes always twinkled back. For a moment, I feel safe having you in my arms. Then I remember, X-Factor happened. Something just couldn't return to where it belong once.
You were definitely one of the favourite in the competition. The judges picked you and four other boys and formed you guys into a boy band. One time, after sneaking into the studio during break, you introduced us.
"Saw your mum on the way in," I whispered breathlessly, smoothing my shirt as I steadied myself on the empty stage. Your friends stopped talking and looked at us curiously.
You glanced down at me, your brows creasing again, "did you talk to her?" A hint of hopefulness showed in your hoarse voice.
Guiltily, I shook my head. I knew how much you wanted your family and I to get along. But I never seemed to be able to pick up the courage to talk to them. "Sorry," I mumbled, tearing my eyes away from you. I felt a dreadful pause in the air, pouring icy water over me.
Then, I felt your hand landed on my arm. "Don't apologize," you said softly, "here, let me introduce you to my friends." When I looked up at you, I saw a hint of smile on your lips. It was unbelievable how easy it was now to get a smile on your face. You replaced my hand onto the small of my back and led me to your friends. Anxiety stirred inside me as I quickly looked over them. Luckily, all of them were wearing a welcoming smiles on their faces.
"This is Louis, Zayn, Niall and Liam. Guys, this is Klara." I squeezed out a tight smile, feeling the nerves growing in my chest.
They greeted in unison before Louis breaking into a beam, "oh, so you're the Klara that Harry always talked about!" I felt your hand froze on my back. No doubt you were scared of what he was going to say next.
Niall glanced over at you with a smug face and nudged Louis, "come on, mate. Don't embarrass him." Zayn and Liam only grinned at this like it happened everyday. My heart lightened at the scene. I was so glad your friends treated you as one, like a family. I didn't have to worry about you being out of the group, feeling not belong.
It was freezing outside. So when Jane and Percy actually decided to drop by and visit you, I was frankly quite surprised. "What are you guys doing here? It's bloody cold outside!" I exclaimed airily, so not to disturb the boys rehearsing.
Jane came in with a pink nose, her beanie laying numbly on her amber hair while Percy was snuggling comfily in his knitted pull over. "I just want to have a look," she whispered without tearing her eyes away from the boys on stage.
"Geez," Percy said, running a hand through his wind swiped hair, "they are really good."
A smile lit up my face as I watched Harry did his solo part. His voice, as amazing as ever, echoed off in the empty studio. The singing coach next to us screwed up his face in concentration as he watched the rehearsal.
Nodding at Percy had just said, I elbowed him lightly, "I like your pullover. It's very christmasy."
"Thanks," he lifted up his lips and slipped his hands into his pocket. Jane smiled up at him, her face shining with affection. Then with a boom, someone's voice was projected through the microphone.
"So many new friends!" Zayn sang in his pitch perfect voice. Jane jumped slightly in surprised before turning to the boy on stage and made a face jokingly.
"Should we just go and grab Nando's? I'm hungry," whined Niall. I chuckled, watching you shrugged seriously while the others just laughed their heads off.
"Of course," Liam put his arm around Niall's shoulder and they began to walk down the flight of stairs from the stage.
You cleared his throat slightly and motioned Louis over. He whispered something into Louis's ears before earning a nod of understanding in return. "Have fun, Harry," Louis grinned at you before jumping onto Zayn's back, discussing about the menu of Nando's.
"What is it?" I asked as you did a little jog towards. Like you were trying to melt me onto the spot, you beamed with satisfaction, and a breath was caught in my throat.
"I'm going with you," you said, pulling me closer so we were just inches apart. A chuckle rang beside us. I did my best to ignore Percy and Jane. "We can go and grab a hot choco."
Your words brought a grin on my face. My heart took flight in excitement. I knew this sounded childish but I was so glad to be able to spend some time with you. Not having to worry about anything at all.
"Sounds awesome," I replied, taking your hand swiftly as you led me out of the studio. In here, you were the boss and leader. Without you, I would be lost in the world of fame. Jane and Percy followed suit quietly behind us, having some kind of silent conversation.
But as I was just looking forward to the cup of hot choco with you innocently, I never thought things would get complicated as the crowds outside the studio grew.
