Chat Noir

I did as Marinette told e to do and tapped on her window once I had transformed again.

I stood out in the cold night for a couple seconds before I heard her shuffling inside to come let me in.

Finally she did, and I cam in with a light smile.

"You okay?" I asked, worried about her, though she looked okay for the most part.

"I'll be fine, my friend Alya has been acting up recently about something, and she just called to apologize. Looks like we are the only ones who can't sleep at night huh?" she said, pulling up her chair from her desk and sitting down.

"Are you sure everything's okay? You seemed pretty torn up," I asked, feeling like she might break again at any second.

"Really, I'm okay. I just feel terrible for whatever she's having to go through," she assured, making me feel a little bit better.

But I still knew I was going to have to lie to her, which I was not excited about.

But what more could I do? Marinette's so easily breakable that she would become an akuma for sure.

I didn't want to fight her either, not after these weird feelings I've been getting around her.

Marinette sat up in her seat, looking at me strangely.

"May I ask you something?" she asked, making my ears perk up.

"Of course," I replied.

She paused for a moment, looking at me and my ring.

"You love Ladybug...right?"

I blinked rapidly, "That obvious huh?"

"Why though? So she's your partner and you save the world together...but would you really be able to love her even under the mask?" She asked, making the gears in my head turn.

I raised a brow, "Why do you ask such a question? Isn't the answer as obvious as my love for her? Of course I'd care for her no matter who she is, or where she's been, or what she's done. She may be my partner in battle, but she's my friend too. I get these crazy feelings around her that I've never felt with anybody else. If I knew who she was, I'd love her just the same and more. I just...can't explain that to her when I'm with her..."

I trailed off, thinking about her and everything I wish I was with  her.

I looked back at Marinette, her mouth opened slightly with shock and her cheeks bright red.

"Sorry...I didn't mean to ramble on about her. She's just...she's everything I've ever wanted..."

"Chat?"

"Yes?"

"I need to tell you something very important."
