Chat Noir

I had jumped down to Ladybug, walking past people as they held microphones to my face and tried to ask me questions about what had happened.

I didn't say anything and just walked up to the scene, taking in the amount of debris and broken glass.

Everything was ruined.

I could smell the old dust that had gathered up over the years, and I could feel the dirt on my face from everything falling apart.

It wasn't like anything I had ever seen, it was just so broken.

When I finally reached Ladybug, she was talking to a reporter and telling people to stay indoors for safety while we handled the situation.

After a few minutes of speaking to the officers, we started to head towards the rooftops to scope out The Mercenary.

"What did they tell you about him?" I asked as we ran, looking at the ground to see more damage in the streets.

"His name is Edmund Jinks, he's an officer-in-training and got kicked out by the name of a man called Davis Frey. According to the officers, they found out it was a scam and were planning on calling him back in before this happened," Ladybug explained, not looking at me while she watched for anything The Mercenary could've done.

I nodded, understanding how someone could've been Akumatized.

We ran for about two minutes before I noticed something.

I stopped dead in my tracks, "Ladybug!"

She turned around and gasped at what she saw.

Down below us was a giant hole in the road with cars piled up inside.

"Someone is on a rampage," said Ladybug, dropping down with me close behind.

I looked at the hole, which looked like someone had dropped a bomb.

"How could someone like this-"

"He's strong Chat. That's why we have to find him before he causes even more damage," said Ladybug, running along the blocked off roads.

It took a while, but we finally found him.

He was tall, a good 6 feet, and looked powerful even from yards away.

He was walking down the roads, people running and screaming around him.

Ladybug looked at me, but I just went ahead and charged.

I felt her grab me by the tail and I frowned.

"We need a plan Silly Kitty," she said, making me groan.

"What do you propose then?"

She thought for a moment and watched him walk.

"Okay, he may be tall and strong, but look how slowly he walks," she turned me around and sure enough, he walked very  slow.

"And?" I asked, not seeing her point.

"That means he doesn't have good coordination, so we can trap him easily and long enough for us to grab the Akuma," she said while The Mercenary pulled out his sword and examined it.

I nodded.

It was a good plan, but then he started running.

And though he was clumsy and loud, he was headed for the most dangerous place for an Akumatized victim to go.

The Eiffel Tower.
