Memorial day

  I was in the living room preparing the decorations for memorial day. Toby came out in his uniform. He walked up to me, "well a lot of the guys I work with is going to be here for memorial day. We are going to have a memorial day service out back I have already got plans for it."

I smiled, "awesome I love memorial day, I'm going to put up all the flags out back."

Toby laughed, "well some of my friends that are or were in the military is going to do a gun salute for all the veterans. I've also got a big firework show which will have flag fireworks that go up into American flags. And most of the fireworks is red, white and blue. I didn't get much like I planed but I got a lot after the gun salute. We all talked it over at the station and everyone is going to come here to celebrate memorial day so everything has to be perfect."

I smiled, "you can count on me, I've got a lot of plans. I love decorating for memorial day."

He smiled and hugged me, "great well the family is going to come by and help with the decorations. I'm going to have the seats ready for the celebration."

I jumped up and down clapping in excitement, "yay, I cant wait!"

As I was getting the decorations ready Garth, Chris, Luke, Bob walked in. They were all dressed in their uniform which Chris was in his old Military uniform because he was in the military when he was 18. I smiled and looked over at Chris, "damn I didn't know you was in the military I thought you was a cop all your life."

He laughed, "I was a in the military police before I was a cop."

I smiled, "oh ok!"

Angie, Angel, Miranda, Guy and Jake was outside helping with the decorations. Meanwhile I was inside preparing the food to bring out to the tables. I had finger foods and punch which I brought outside. Toby was getting the flag up with Garth. My mom and dad walked in as I was outside and they walked out on the back deck to watch what we was doing. Dad yelled out, "the decorations look great."

I smiled and looked up at them, "yea, I'm so excited!"

When we all got done with the decorations we all waited on everyone to show up which I knew there would be a lot of people I didn't know but im always up for meeting new people.

Me and Toby walked around the house to the driveway where everyone was beginning to show up. There was a lot of cop cars and men in uniform that I didn't know. Toby introduced me to all of them and we all went out back. He showed them their seats as we was getting ready for the service. 6 men in military uniform came around the house with rifles in their hands and 3 men carrying flags in police uniforms were behind them. They were marching towards the front of the stage which Toby put up out back. I sat down with Garth, Dad, Mom, Angie, Miranda, Luke, Bob, Guy, Jake and Jesse and Nicki. Toby's sergeant said his speech as they was getting ready to do the gun salute. We all had a brief silence then the guys with the guns did their gun solute which was really loud but cool at the same time. When they got done the guys held their flags up and we all stood up and they played taps which made me feel like I was at a funeral even though I wasn't. All the Ray boys were saluting to the flags. Then when the taps was over the fireworks started which was pretty cool. After the fireworks we all gathered around and ate and chatted. I met so many cops and military guys and girls which was pretty cool. I also got to meet a bunch of the guys Toby works with. The night was ending and we all said goodbye to everyone and we all cleaned up and then everyone left. Me and Toby went to bed which I was pretty tired from walking around all day and night so I actually fell straight to sleep and so did Toby. That was a great service and I'll never forget it either.
