Chapter 17

"Rory, I'd like to keep you overnight for observation. If everything goes smoothly overnight, you're free to go home." Dr. Warden said to her.

"Ok, sounds good to me." Rory said.

"Can we get her in a private room? She is going to have a lot of visitors, wouldn't want to disturb another patient Dr." Logan said quickly.

"Of course. I'll go make the arrangements. A transporter will be here shortly to take you up stairs, it looks like you'll be in room 748. I'll see you tomorrow." Dr. Warden said looking at her computer screen, and then she left.

"Logan, look at it, this is ours, half you and half me!" Rory said with excitement and a tear in her eye, holding up the sonogram picture.

"Ace, I am the happiest man alive right now. I've got you and you've got my bean." Logan smiled.

"Well, Loin fruit and well Logan, shouldn't you share this tiny little bean picture with your parents and everyone else out there waiting?" Lorelai said laughing.

"She's right we should tell your parents Logan." Rory said with a smile.

"I'll ask the nurse to go get them because I'm not leaving you." Logan said a little more serious.

The waiting room

"Why haven't we heard anything more?! I want to know how Rory is!" Honor said impatiently stomping her foot.

Just then a nurse came through the double doors. Everyone held their breath because they all wanted to see Rory.

"I've been sent to get and bring back Mitchum and Shira Huntzberger?" The young nurse said in a quieted shy tone.

"That's us!" Shira stood up and said eagerly, she could see Honor pouting behind her.

"Can we bring Logan's sister back as well?" Mitchum asked.

"They did only ask for you two. They are going to be keeping Rory over night, and once she is moved upstairs everyone is welcome to visit." The nurse said firmly.

"Fine! What floor? WE will ALL be waiting up there when she is brought up!" Honor said with so much sass, but everyone knew she was just worried.

"She'll be in room 748. Now will Mitchum and Shira please follow me." The nurse said. They disappeared behind the double doors.

"Alright boys, on to the gift shop then up to the 7th floor. Lets go!" Honor said heading off in the direction of the gift shop, the guys, including Josh and Jess following.

Rory's ER room

Mitchum and Shira walked in the room, and were ushered to two seats at the foot of Rory's bed.

"We asked you guys to be back here, because we have a gift for you. Also, since my grandmother and mother got to be here when it happened, I, we thought it would be fitting for you to get the first ones." Rory said trying to contain her excitement.

"Mom, Dad, this is your first grandbaby from me." Logan said with the smile that crinkled at his eyes, as he handed them each a sonogram picture.

"Oh, Logan, Rory, it's beautiful." Shira said with tears forming in her eyes.

"When, hmm, When's the due date?" An emotional Mitchum said. Everyone in the room turned and looked at him, with shock and awe.

"July 5, 2017. An independence day baby!" Logan said with much excitement.

"Let freedom ring!" Mitchum laughed.

The gift shop

"We need balloons, flowers, chocolate, and some comfy clothes for Rory, unless someone wants to go out to a store." Honor said quickly

"We'll go run to the actual store for her clothes. We'll also find some real food for everyone to eat." Robert and Colin quickly said and excused themselves.

"I've got the bill for this love. Everyone just pick things out." Finn said as he sashayed to the register to wait.

"Jess, Josh please go pick out balloons, and whatever else. I'll get the flowers and chocolate." Honor said. She picked out 3 bouquets, lilies, roses, daisies. She also picked one of every piece of candy and chip the place had to offer, and a basket to put it in.

They had ended up with what Honor had picked out, plus 7 balloons that Josh and Jess picked out. They were set.

"That will be $164.50." The cashier said, and Finn swiped his credit card.

"Now let's go find the 7th floor then room 748, hopefully we'll beat Rory and Logan there." Josh said as they climbed on the elevator.
