Chapter 21

Tiffany came back with Dr. Kimberly Koenigsfeld. She examined the screen and turned to Rory, Logan and Lorelai with a huge smile.

"So, Rory, Logan, your baby is completely healthy, growing right on track. However, sometimes, a sonogram can miss somethings." Dr. Koenigsfeld said.

"Miss somethings? What are you talking about? You said the baby was fine and growing right on track. What is going on?" Rory talked a mile a minute, trying to hold in a new batch of tears.

"Dr. K, what is going on? How is our baby? Why do you say sonograms miss things?" Logan said, he squeezes Rory's hand, trying to hold his emotions in check. To be strong for Rory.

"Well, Rory, Logan, Rory's mom, sometimes sonograms can miss a second baby, because it hides behind the baby we could see. So, Rory, BOTH, your babies are doing very well, growing right on track." Dr. Koenigsfeld said.

"What?!?" The three of them exclaimed.

"You mean I get TWO grandbabies??!?!?!! Are you sure? This is so exciting!!!" Lorelai said with the biggest smile on her face.

"Two, two babies? Are you sure?" Rory stuttered. She looked at Logan who was white as a ghost.

"Yes, two babies. They are both going to be here on the original due date. July 5, 2017. Logan breathe, maybe you should sit down." Dr. Koenigsfeld said with a hint of amusement.

"No, no I'm fine. Two, just two babies is a lot. They're healthy?" Logan managed to stutter out.

"Yes, they're good. Do you want to know what they are, besides healthy?" Dr. K said.

"NO!" Rory and Logan both yelled at the same time.

"OK, do you guys need the 15 copies of the pictures again?" Dr. Koenigsfeld said laughing.

"Can we also have one that says the sexes on it, in a sealed envelope?" Logan said.

"We want to do a gender reveal party, and I guess now we have to do an extra baby reveal party too." Rory said rubbing her stomach, forgetting the gel was still there.

"You need a towel Rory?" Lorelai said busting out laughing.

Lorelai handed Rory a towel. Dr. Koenigsfeld went out, and came back with the copies and a sealed envelope, and handed it to Logan. She congratulated them as they walked out. They were happy their babies were healthy, but the realization that it was babies instead of baby, was sinking in. Lorelai however could not stop smiling.
