Chapter 35

1 week later

After Rory's meltdown the first day everyone came to see the babies she gradually got better. They have been home for 2 days, and obviously had to have a nursery change since Finley made her debut. The babies are loved beyond measure, and everyone is signing up to come help to give mom and dad nap breaks. First two weeks is Lorelai and Emily, although Emily is staying for 4 weeks.

"Lorelai pick that baby up before she wakes Rory up!" Emily said in a quiet hushed tones so she didn't wake Rory either.

"Mom, I got this, I have had a kid before. Come, here Finley, why so vocal?" Lorelai said scooping up her granddaughter. Hmm, granddaughter, Lorelai thought to herself, I'm not only one person's grandma, I'm two people's grandma. This is crazy.

"Lorelai, did you ever think we'd be sitting here together, grandmother and great- grandmother? I just wish your father could be here to see his great grandchildren. He'd be so proud. Especially since this little guy is named after him. I miss him." Emily said as she held baby Richard a little tighter.

"Mom, these last few years have been a crazy train. I miss dad too. I know he'd be over the moon to have not one but two great grandchildren. I know you'll spoil them both enough for the two of you. I'm glad our relationship is where it is too mom, I'm glad we can be here to enjoy them together." Lorelai said as she rocked Finley to try to get her to calm down.

Meanwhile, these ladies didn't know it but Rory and Logan had been listening to this exchange from their bedroom, from the baby monitor.

"Wow, Ace, your mom and grandma." Logan smiled at her, pulling her closer.

"I miss my grandpa, I wish he could be here to see these two. I would no longer be the only apple of his eye." Rory said with a laugh.

"You've got that right Ace, Richard and Finley are quite the apples of everyone's eyes, show stoppers. Just ask Finn and Honor. " Logan said laughing thinking of how competitive Finn and Honor where to get over here to see the babies. Honor had the advantage since she lived in the neighborhood. Although, Finn could very well be buying the house next door as we speak.

"I'm so glad everyone is getting along and the twins have brought everyone together peacefully so to speak. I love them so much and I love you so much Logan!" Rory turned and smiled at him and then kissed him.

"Ace as nice as this would be, our nap time is almost up, and judging by how vocal our daughter has been for the last 10 minutes I think it is time to go join the elder Gilmore ladies and the Huntzberger babies." Logan said kissing Rory back.

"I suppose you're right. When is Finn suppose to get here?" Rory asked as she pulled the blankets back.

"Finn is due here any minute. I wouldn't be surprised if we walk out there and he's already got a baby." Logan joked, but only kind of. Finn was super attached to the twins, and he was also kind of like a baby whisperer.

Sure enough, the formerly fussy Finley was quiet as can be in Uncle Finn's arms when Rory and Logan walked out to the living room. A living room which looked like babies r us with all the baby stuff in it. Richard was asleep in his swing, Emily and Lorelai were watching Finn in amazement, they still couldn't believe bachelor playboy there was so good with babies.

"Hello love, Logan, how are we this fine afternoon." Finn said in whisper when he was Logan and Rory coming down the last couple of stairs heading toward the living room.

"How did I know the silence meant that you were here?" Rory said with a laugh as she reached for Finley, then walked over to get Richard.

"It's a gift. Plus I mean come on who doesn't love me? " Finn laughed.

"Well hate to take babies and run but I'm going up to the nursery to feed them. Mom and Grandma you guys can come and keep me company if you want." Rory said looking at them.

"Of course kid, I call dibs on burping at least one of them." Lorelai laughed.

Lorelai, Rory, Emily, and the twins headed upstairs leaving Logan and Finn. After a few minutes Logan got up and gestured for Finn to follow. They went in to Logan's study.

"So, how is it going with your pursuit of the Dr.?" Logan asked.

"She has finally agreed to a date tomorrow evening. She's very truly an interesting human being." Finn said with a small smile.

"Oh after all these years someone has won Finny's heart?" Logan joked.

"Mate, it's already been won, they're almost a week old. But yes someone of marriage potential has started to pick at my heart." Finn laughed as he pointed towards upstairs.

"Speaking of hearts, have you, Colin, and Robert, been working on what we talked about? Emily and Lorelai know the plan too." Logan said in a more serious tone.

"Mate, it's all under control, everything will work out beautifully." Finn said with a smile.
