"Welcome to the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation Entertainment Awards!" Edu Manzano announced as he and Vilma Santos walked center stage to the microphone.
"It's going to be one crazy night!" Vilma announced as she pushed her curls away from her face.
"That's right! Full of surprises!"
CUT TO….
"Next, presenting one of the best award of the evening, Hottest Couple on Primetime!"
"Don’t you like this award, it has a lot of pretty girls in it, Edu!" asked Vilma.
"Right you are my dear, as well as handsome men! These three couples practically melt the screen everynight. Their chemistry exceeds all others, and they keep us tuned in and in awe from day to day."
Vilma agrees with Edu. “And now the nominees for Hottest Couple on Primetime."
The audience watched the screen as a montage to a song plays, and scenes pour onto the screen. All show intense passion, but for some reason, those between Richard and Dawn stand out the most. There's something there that is lacking in the other. Something amazing, which makes them incredible. Sitting across the table from one another, Richard and Dawn send quick glances back and force, a strong tension still between them. They continue to stare at each other throughout the montages, even as she holds on tightly to Martin's hand, she can't help but think back to their kiss, and how it had ended. ‘God if only things were different. But they weren't. This wasn't High School anymore’ and she had to accept that, or at least try to.
The song ended, and the screen went blank as the audience cheered.
"The nominees are, Lorna Tolentino and Rudy Fernandez, Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion, and Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta. And the winner is........Marco and Emily of My Eternal, Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta!"
Both of them were shocked from the announcement, as the others stood up to applaud, Martin leaned down to kiss her, as Richard came over and offered his hand to hers as they walked up to the stage arm in arm. They took their Plaques and walked over to the mic. Richard motioned for Dawn to speak first.
"Wow, this is unbelievable!" she said as she clutched the award to her chest, and tears formed in her eyes. "I never thought I'd be up here right now, but since I am, it feels pretty damn good," she said as she held the award out to glance it over in disbelief, and received a chuckle from the audience. "First off, I want to thank my Mom and Dad for all their love and support, I love you both so much and thank you. I want to thank my best friend Jane for always being there, I love you, too. My wonderful agent, our producer Dianne, director Vic, and our writers, you are all amazing, and thanks to your hard work I am up here. My co-stars, and crew, all your support means so much, and I adore you all! Of course my leading man, Richard Gomez I can't say enough about you," she began, as she looked over towards him, and stared deeply into his eyes. "Your talent is incredible and without you I wouldn't be here. You have a special place in my heart and thank you." She paused for several moments, her concentration lost in his gaze "Uhh, and the fans, this is because of you, without you, we're nothing, and you're the greatest fans on the planet. Last but not least, my fiancé, Martin, who puts up with me through everything, I love you, honey," she said smiling as she blew him a kiss. "Thank you all."
As she walked aside, Richard stepped up to the mic.
"I think Dawn got just about everyone I wanted to thank, except Martin, he isn't my fiancé," he said as the crowd let out a laugh, "but I must also add my best friend John and no he is no way related to Dawn's fiancee, he is always there for me, and I love him like a brother. You're the best man. My Mom and Dad, thank you for everything and blessing me with life, I love you dearly. Mr. Vic, thank you for thinking I have 'the look'. Our producer and head writer, the dynamic duo, you make our scenes come to life, and I thank you also. The fans, you're amazing, and this is for you. And of course Dawn, the most gorgeous, talented young actress , and I am lucky enough to star opposite her. I have to be the luckiest man alive for that itself. You'll never know what you mean to me. Thank you."
With that, they walked off stage to the press room, leaving a very jealous Martin alone in his seat, having doubts that those speeches they'd just made went far beyond an admiration for co-workers and was beginning to cross the line between business and pleasure. Getting up from his seat, he headed to the press room to meet Dawn, he wanted answers, and he wanted them now.
