Today was New Year's eve. I wasn't trying to be an inconvenience to Ryan, so I assured him that him and Jade should do something without me. It's been awhile since they've taken a night to themselves and not worried about me. And I thought they both deserved it very much.

Jade had been warming up to me and I began to realize she wasn't as bad as I initially thought. She always made sure I had enough of my 'lady products' so I never had to awkwardly ask Ryan to purchase them for me. In addition, she was always up to listen to things and it was nice to get an opinion from someone who's older and has a lot more experience than I do. We would go shopping together pretty frequently and we got along a lot nicer, and Ryan liked that two of the main people in his life are living in peace.

Since they were going on a date tonight, Shawn insisted on taking me out somewhere. He told me it was a little bit nicer than some of the other stuff we've done, and to dress nice. I stood in front of my closet for about a half hour, contemplating whether to wear a dress or not. Although my heart said yes, the weather completely fucked over my plans and I decided if I wanted to stay warm, I'd have to find a different outfit. I rummaged through my closet, throwing different garments onto the floor until I found something warm and cute that would suffice for my date with Shawn. Was it even a date? I liked to think so.

My eyes landed on a button up sweater that Jade thought looked gorgeous on me. Although I had many sweaters in my closet, this one was probably the most comfortable. It was loose and big and the sleeves folded up, but it was nonetheless adorable. I smiled to myself as I laid it onto my bed, searching for other clothes to wear. I decided on a white, lacy, spaghetti strap bralette and dark wash jeans that were slightly faded. I was hoping that this paired with my tall brown suede boots would be enough to impress Shawn tonight.

Although Shawn had seen me in my absolute worst in sweatpants, a loose bun, and a naked face, I still liked to look presentable

Although Shawn had seen me in my absolute worst in sweatpants, a loose bun, and a naked face, I still liked to look presentable. Although Shawn always complimented me no matter what I was wearing, I wanted him to know that I was willing to put in the effort. After I put on the outfit, I sat at my vanity and began curling the ends of my hair. I made sure the ends were loose and light, not really being a fan of larger, tight curls.

Once I finished, I sprayed it with my favorite hairspray to ensure the curls would stay in. I then applied my favorite Born This Way foundation and covered all of my facial imperfections. I did a soft wing, and then applied mascara. After contemplating for a couple minutes, I finally decide to use possibly the greatest highlighter of all time, the Becca shade in Opal. I smiled at myself in the mirror, not looking like an absolute bum for once. When I finished getting ready, I stayed seated at my vanity. It was 6:45 and Shawn had promised to be here by 7.

I found myself growing extremely bored, although the wait was only fifteen minutes. Although, I ended up waiting a lot longer than that. A full hour of sitting at my vanity and growing more and more upset later, he arrived. I was happy he still came, because I had began thinking that Shawn had bailed on me and I'd have to spend the whole night crying and watching the ball drop by myself. By the time he got here, Ryan and Jade had already left, bidding their goodbyes and telling me to have fun.
