She latched onto his collar and pulled him in. She didn't think, just acted. She didn't let thoughts change what she felt, what she'd desired to do.
She had waited by the phone for days and now here he was, drenched in rain like he'd just stepped out of the romantic movie playing on the TV screen. She took a beat to look at his face, he looked tired but that wasn't what she was focusing on. She saw a shimmer of hope cover his face. How she wanted to kiss that face.
"How?" Phoebe couldn't form a proper sentence, she knew she didn't need to anyway, one word was enough.
"I talked to your mum," Phoebe couldn't muster up the strength to care that her mum had divulged her location with him, she was just glad he was here.
Phoebe didn't need to say anything else, that could wait. She circled her hands around his neck and pulled him closer, his breath fanning her lips. She looked up at his lips and couldn't wait a second more. Their lips joined without a second delay, urgency spreading through the air surrounding them. She closed her eyes and kissed him back with everything she could. This felt better than any kiss from Riley.
Asher pulled away from her lips and trailed kisses down her cheek, Phoebe kicking the door closed. He pushed her hair to the side as Asher kissed the space where her neck and shoulders meet. Phoebe let desire wash over her as she felt the euphoria of Asher's touch on her skin. Phoebe found herself walking backwards and landing on her bed, Asher following after her, not letting them detach from one another.
Phoebe placed her hands on Asher's face and pulled it down to hers again, lips meeting once again. She'd missed him so much that all she wanted was his lips on hers, nothing more and nothing less.
"I've missed you," Asher breathed out Phoebe's thoughts. They knew each other like the back of their hands but it didn't feel that way now. It had been years and it was as though they were just discovering one another again. Asher let a wide grin etch its way on his face as he took her in.
He circled his arms around her waist and laid there with her, only needing the simplest of contact to feel at home with her. This is what he'd missed so much, the fact that a simple embrace could make them feel whole. He'd loved her for years but even the distance between them couldn't fade his love for her.
They both focused their attention on the movie that was just about ending, the man with the woman, they both looked desperately in love and it filled Phoebe's heart with warmth. It's funny how only five minutes ago the very same idea made her sick to her stomach.
