Saturday arrives faster than what feels humanly possible and Phoebe feels rather excited about the whole affair. Seeing the pure elation on her mother's face as she dressed herself up on the late Saturday afternoon. Eleanor steps out of her room and walks downstairs towards the room full of ready and supportive faces. Family is everything to her, she is immensely grateful for being blessed with this family.
"You look beautiful," Steve whispers into his wife's ear as he holds his hand out for Eleanor to take. Steve brushes his hand up her back, bringing it to cup her cheek and placing a kiss on the top of her forehead. The small moment that the wedded couple share is almost instantly interrupted when Eleanor is swept up into a flurry of movements leading her out the front door and on their way to the gala. Eleanor barely has a moment to breathe before the car pulls out of the gutter and onto the road, making everything all the more real. If she didn't take a deep breath soon she felt as though she might faint. It was only a matter of time before they would arrive and all eyes would be on her. She wasn't sure if she was ready for this, she wasn't sure if she could handle this new position.
Then like an anchor keeping its boat from drifting, Steve reassuringly squeezes her hand, keeping her from floating away into her negative thoughts. In that moment she knew that she could handle anything they threw her way. She was strong, she was brave, she could handle this.

Phoebe feels overwhelmed. She doesn't know a single person here that she isn't related to by blood or marriage. But considering the focus of this evening is her mother, she needs to mingle even if she just wanted to go home and sleep for a week.
Thankfully, as she begins to stand and make her way to find someone to talk to, she is cut off by the sound of the company's CEO beginning to announce her mother's new position. And she definitely isn't complaining about it.
"Eleanor began working with us many years ago and I am proud to be standing here now, introducing her to you all as the company's newest Chief Operating Officer," she pauses for a brief moment for everyone to finish applauding before she begins again, "I am excited to be working closer with Eleanor and for us all to witness the great initiatives that she will bring to us."
Everyone applauds as Eleanor smiles widely at everyone, preparing herself to speak in front of the crowd. Eleanor is quick to begin speaking and before long she is handing the microphone back to the CEO and basking in the crowd's applause.
