Fifteen
Not long after starting her university course, Phoebe decided teaching just wasn't for her. When applying for university Phoebe was overcome with the feeling that she had to apply for the most logical courses which somewhat interested her. She knew it wouldn't be what she was passionate about but that's what hobbies are for, she figured.
She hated it. Turned up to class was painful, studying was awful, and knowing she had made a mistake was dreadful. She knew it was time to make a change. She deferred from her course, took a few months to figure out just what she wanted to do. Phoebe constantly tried new things for those few months but there was one thing that keeping tugging at her. Phoebe had loved to write but never really considered it a feasible career, she knew it was difficult to make it in the industry. And yet after careful consideration for weeks on end, she just couldn't consider anything else.
She enrolled for the next semester and eagerly arrived at her first class. Realistically, she knew she was required to have a degree for the field but it made her feel like she was on track with her life and ultimately, she expected that her skills would grow over the next few years. Phoebe had hoped she would make a few friends over the course of her time at uni but didn't quite expect it to happen so quickly.
Shortly after sitting down in her seat on the very first day, a small girl with the deepest blue eyes she had ever seen sat next to her, confidently introducing herself. It wasn't long until the two were sitting with one another each class and slowly, with time, the two had become best friends. And now here they were, years later, still as close as ever.
"You should've seen him, Phoebs. You remember the guy at the movies the other week?"
Isabelle's silent for a moment whilst Phoebe thinks back to the Friday night that they went to the movies together and instantly envisions his green eyes and wild brown hair.
"Of course," Phoebe comments, thinking back to how he looked and how they made eye contact and she wanted to squeal at how attractive he was.
"This guy's better," Isabelle states leaving Phoebe a little stunned, "I nearly went up to him too. He has these kind eyes that I couldn't help but be drawn to, you know?"
Phoebe smiles to herself as she pictures Asher and his kind brown eyes, finding herself knowing exactly what she means.
"How're we going to find this boy again then? We need to set you up," Phoebe exclaims with a grin spread over her face.
