The thrumming of her own fingers on the table was beginning to irritate her. It wasn't the first time she put herself in this situation but she was nervous nevertheless. She scanned her eyes over the vast room, tables littered the space making room for the copious amount of customers who'd step foot in the establishment each day. Her eyes flittered to the counter, bags of coffee beans piled on one another lay next to the coffee machine providing easy access for the baristas.

The chime of the bell at the door held her attention as she swung her head towards the sound. Isabelle strode into the room with an elegance that Phoebe could only dream of. Her luscious and long brown hair swaying behind her as her crystal blue eyes searched the room for Phoebe. They hadn't seen each other in weeks and Phoebe was itching to jump out of her seat and engulf her in a hug. Having spotted Phoebe, Isabelle's petite form made its way over to her. Phoebe all but jumped out of her seat and ran her hands down her outfit, smoothing down the wrinkles.

Letting out a sigh of relief, Phoebe embraced her friend with a warm smile etching its way onto her face.

"I've missed you so much."

Isabelle returned the smile as she dropped the fifty pages of work that Phoebe sent her last week onto the table, "It's been too long."

Phoebe's smile only grew when she saw the highlighter and pen scrawled across the pages of work. For as long as she could remember, her thoughts on sharing her work had always been conflicting. She loved and embraced the feedback, wanting to step up and improve her work. Despite this, she always had the burning thought in the back of her mind that maybe her writing wasn't worth reading.

"You've certainly kept me busy," Isabelle joked whilst settling into her seat opposite Phoebe. Isabelle flicked her hair over her shoulder as she picked up her red pen, ready to dive straight in.

"So I liked the opener, it caught my attention straight away," she begun as Phoebe fidgeted with the ring on her fingers, "However, I would suggest a different verb in the first line of the second paragraph."

Phoebe felt herself relax as her friend kept listing adjustments she could make for improvement.

"In this sentence," Isabelle began as she pointed with her pen to the exact part she was referencing, "I loved the variation between sentence lengths except for these two, I think you should combine them."
