Part 2 for last chapter enjoy!

The very next day I was boarding a boat bound for England.
I had Bucky's dog tags around my neck. I went to the bow of the boat.
It was cold and windy. But the water was beautiful. A clear crystal blue. Could see right to the bottom.
I felt a presence next to me. I turned to face him. It was a man a little older than me with green eyes, light brown hair, and he was quite thin.
Though his voice was deep. "I'm Larry Heart." He said.
I smiled sadly. "Edith Barnes. Pleasure to meet you." I said.
We shook hands.
"What brings you to desire to go to England?" He asked.
" I'm going to Germany actually. It's my husband. Everyone thinks he's dead but I know otherwise. I'm going to find him." I said looking back out at sea.
"He fought in the war?" Larry Heart asked.
I nodded. "He was a great solider I trained him even a little."
"What was his name?"
"Sergeant James Buchanan Barnes. I loved him so so much. And I still do. And I know he isn't dead." I said sternly.
I felt Larry's gaze on me. "You sure?"
"Do you think I'd be going all the way to Germany to find him if I wasn't sure?"
"Good point."
It was silent for a moment. Then I spoke up.
"Why are you going to Europe?" I asked.
"To help clean up and things." Larry responded.
"You know I lost my wife. She was sick I don't know what kind of disease but she didn't make it." Larry said.
"I'm so sorry." I replied.
He shrugged. "I'll move on. Maybe find someone else."
"There is no one else for me." I said.
"What are you going to do if you don't find him?" Larry asked.
"Keep looking. I'm not giving up on him."
"What if he is dead?"
"He's not."
"You remind me of her. Judy that's my wife's name. Or it was. She was just as stubborn."
"How long ago did she die?"
"Five years."
"Oh." I mumbled not sure what to say.
"How long ago were you told your husband died?" Larry asked.
"Yesterday."
"Wow. And you already jumped on a ship to find him?" Larry sounded surprised.
"Of course I did. He'd do it for me." I replied. Tears stung my eyes again. I missed him so much.
My eyes have never been so red and puffy.
Larry seemed to notice. "Hey how about I help you find James?" He asked.
"I wouldn't mind." I replied.
Sergeant James Buchanan Barnes I will find you. I thought firmly.
A few months later we docked in England. Me and Larry have become friends somewhat.
Immediately I found a train station. I bought tickets to Germany. It was the best I could find. It stopped the least.
Later that afternoon we boarded the train.
"So how long you think this will take?" Larry asked as we took our seats.
"I'm not sure a day. A week, a life time. I have no clue." I replied.
The train ride was pleasant. Me and Larry discussed where Bucky could be.
Ages later we arrived in Germany.
Things here were awful soldiers from all over were walking around. Germany was in ruins.
"What's the plan?" Larry whispered.
"Pick out all the Americans. Show them this." I gave him a photo of Bucky.
"Remember Sergeant James Buchanan Barnes of the 107th." I reminded him.
"How could I forget? You've only told me an infinite number of times." Larry joked before walking up to a soldier.
Taking a deep breath I walked up to an American soldier.
  "Excuse me?" I asked.
He looked to me surprised. "Hello ma'am. You're American?" He asked.
"Yes I'm from Brooklyn. I came here looking for my husband. Sergeant James Buchanan Barnes from the 107th. He was here in Germany I believe. He was supposed to come home yesterday he never did. He was with Steve Rogers tracking a German train. I was told he died on the mission thought he uh fell off the train. I have a photo and this letter and his dog tags." I explained. I took off the dog tags and handed them and the letter and photo to the soldier.
"He had a nickname Bucky? Maybe you know him?" I asked desperately.
The soldier examined what I gave him of Bucky's.
"Ma'am I'm sorry but this letter says your husband is dead." The soldier said.
"Sir, I know but it's wrong. He's alive! I came all the way here for him." I insisted.
"Has he contacted you?" The soldier asked.
  I shook my head.
The man handed Bucky's things back.
"Then he's gone I'm sorry." With that the soldier left.
I asked at least a hundred more. With all the same results.
At the end of the day I met up with Larry again.
  "Any luck?" I asked eagerly.
Larry shook his head.
I couldn't control myself. Tears flooded my eyes. I stared breathing heavily.
"No, no, NO!!" I fell to my knees. "He can't be gone! He's alive I know it! He, he- I miss him. I miss him so much. Damn it! Where are you Bucky?" I cried.
Larry helped me up. I saw a soldier I hadn't asked yet. I ran after him.
"Sir! Sir! Please wait, stop!" I screamed.
He turned. I was shaking.  "Yes ma'am." He asked.
Shaking I handed him Bucky's photo.
"This is Sergeant James Buchanan Barnes do you know him?" I asked desperately.
  The man examined the photo.
  "He's of the 107th." I said.
The soldier nodded. "Yeah, yeah I knew him."
I perked up. "Really? Where is he?"
"I don't know. All I know is he's dead."
"No! No he isn't!" I shouted at him.
  "Oh I'm sorry!" I cried.
"I'm so sorry he's dead." The soldier said.
  He began to walk away.
"Wait! Please!" I cried. "What about Steve Rogers he was with him! Sergeant Barnes!"
The soldier turned again. "Yeah Steve Rogers was Captain America. Uh he crashed in a plane somewhere no one knows where."
My heart fell. I cried more. "Thank you."
He patted my shoulder. "I'm sorry really." Then he was gone.
I fell to the pavement again. I screamed. Larry picked me up and engulfed me in a hug.
"I don't know Edith maybe it's time to give up?" He suggested.
I pulled away from him. "Give up?"
"Yes I'm mean look how many people we asked he's gone. They're both gone."
"GIVE UP!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? NO! I WONT!!"
Larry tried to calm me. "Edith why?"
"CAUSE HE ISNT DEAD AND HED DO THE SAME FOR ME!" I yelled.
   "Listen-"
"No! I won't listen! I've had people telling me for the past 48 hours that my Bucky is dead! I won't stand it anymore. If you won't help me I'll do it myself!" I stormed off.
  I never saw Larry again.

10 years. 10 damned years have gone by. I've become sick of Europe.
I've driven myself nuts looking for Bucky and Steve.
I was a mess. I had no money no where to go. But I had to keep looking. And I still was.
I needed Bucky. And he probably needed me.
I finally had a lead on him.
A base in northern Germany for a place called HYDRA.
I was heading there now. I busted the door open to the base.
Alarms blared. Guards rushed at me.
  I killed them all.
I ran through the place. I had no freaking clue where I was going.
I just kept running and fighting off guards. I checked a few rooms which were all nothing I was concerned with.
I was ready to give up when I checked one last room.
I took out the guards there and went to the examination table. I almost died on the inside from what I saw.
Bucky laid strapped to it. With leather. He was filthy and covered in cuts. I noticed he had a metal arm now.
I didn't take much more time to examine him. I took my knife and cut through the leather. Bucky's eyes fluttered open. I helped him sit up. He flinched a little at my touch.
"BUCKY!" I exclaimed happily. I hugged him.
He seemed confused. "Edith?" He asked.
I looked into his eyes my heart racing.
"Yes, it's me I came for you!" I said happily. His hair was a lot longer.
"How'd you know I was here?" He croaked.
"I didn't. I've been looking for you for ten years! I can't believe I found you!" I said tears of joy flowing.
"I thought you were dead." I said hugging him again. "Oh God I've missed you. I love you Bucky." I told him.
"I love you too." He said clutching me.
He was sobbing. I helped him up.
"We don't have much time." I said.
Bucky nodded. He leaned heavily on me.
I held him arm around me and ran as fast as I could with him.
I fought a ton of guards. Finally though to my disbelief we made it out. And got pretty far too.
We stopped in a woodland area. Bucky was panted heavily.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" I asked worriedly.
  "Not physically." He replied.
I hugged him. I kissed him too.
"I've missed you so so so much! I love you." I said shaking.
"I've missed you to. I love you." He replied.
I looked at his now metal arm and his horrible health. I didn't look much better but Bucky was horrible.
"God Bucky what'd they do to you?" I asked.
He looked at his new arm. "I don't know. And apparently I'm some kind of super soldier."
I cried. "Oh I don't care." I flung myself in his arms again. He held me tightly.
When we broke apart I shrugged off his jacket I had taken from home. For the past ten years I've worn it.
It no longer smelled of him but it didn't matter I had Bucky now.
I put it on him he was shaking like a leaf. "Oh my poor Bucky." I said stroking him.
"Edith, what about you?" He asked softly.
I shook my head. "I have layers Buck, you don't."
I dug out stale bread for him. It was almost a whole loaf.
He didn't take it. "I'm not eating your food supply."
"Bucky it's okay I'm not even hungry and I have more." Part of that was a lie. I was starving and I had more food but not much.
Bucky looked at me for a while critically before was wolfing the bread down.
I also gave him some water from my canteen.
I let him rest a few minutes before cleaning his face.
I made a fire. And I now sat in his lap.
I looked up into his eyes a few times to make sure he was okay.
"Have you seen Steve?" I asked him.
"Nah, not since I fell from that train. You know I almost forgot everything. I was starting to doubt if you were even real. And then here you are sitting in my lap like the little princess you are."
I smiled. "I'm so glad I found you. I knew you weren't dead. People have been trying to tell me for like ten years that you were. And here you are. So I don't think Steve's dead either. I got some info on him. He was piloting a plane with a bomb on it apparently and it went down in water somewhere."
"And you think he's alive?"
"You are so yes."
"I can't believe you did so much just to find me." Bucky said in disbelief.
"Are you crazy? Of course I did Buck you'd do the same for me. And I'll get us back to Brooklyn I had a friend watch the house. And I'll make you that deer pot pie and cake. No green beans." I said rambled.
To shut me up Bucky leaned down and kissed me. It was sloppy again but I didn't care at all.
We kissed till neither of us could breathe.
"You should sleep Edith." Bucky said when we broke apart. I curled up on his chest and fell asleep.

Few months later
I was helping Bucky onto the ship that would take us home from England.
We were both pretty sick. Bucky was so thin. I was scared for him. I had to get him food or something.
I sat with him leaning on my shoulder.
It was now a few weeks into the trip.
"I knew the whole time you know." Bucky said suddenly.
I looked at him. "What are you talking about?"
"That you nearly starved yourself to death just to keep me alive this past year." He replied.
Tears welled up in my eyes.
"Of course I did. I didn't go half way across the world and break into a million HYDRA bases just to have you die before I could take you home."
"I wanna know what the Hell I did to deserve a woman like you." Bucky said.
"What's there to wonder Buck? You're amazing and I know you'd do the same thing for me."
He grinned stupidly. "I love you." He said.
I put an arm around him. "I know. I love you too."
A month later i was at the bow of the ship. I then saw it.
The city skyline. I was home.
  "Bucky!" I called.
He woke up from his nap. "Hm?" He asked.
  "Were home!" I said happily.
He opened his eyes fully. "Really?"
I helped him up. He looked out at the skyline.
"Well I'll be damned. I never thought I see Brooklyn again."
I hugged him tightly. Finally we were home. And I had my Bucky.
All I had to do now was find Steve and everything would be great.
I knew Bucky wasn't dead. I knew it.
