"Ugh, another bad day at school today" I muttered as I walked down the steps of the Woodside Hills Middle School. I got a bad grade on my ELA test, there where somebody catapulting there lunch tray (I have no idea why) and landed *SPLAT*on my lap. The bad news was, I had to wear my gym shorts for the rest of the day. IT IS THE MIDDLE OF WINTER. But anyhoo, I stopped at the trash can to throw out the book,"The BIG Collection of Fairy Tales". I mean, I don't know why mom makes me read all this stuff she knows I don't believe in fairy tales, AND I do NOT like reading books.
"Piper!"my Mom yelled from the car.(she's telling me to get on so we can go home)
"Coming!"I yelled back.
I tied my cinnamon-colored haired into a pony tail as I walked to our car.
The second I closed the door, Mom instantly asked me:"Did you enjoy the book?"
I stared at her wondering what to say since it is in the trash can.
"yes?" Mom asked again.
Sweat came down as my face turned pink. But somehow there's always a look in Mom's eye that makes me tell the truth.
"Um-um about that...."I mumbled.I took a deep breath and said it as fast as I could,"IthrewitinthetrashcanbecauseIthoughtitwasboringandyouknowIhatebooks".
"WHAT?!"Mom glared at me with her brown eyes. "How could you?!"
"I'm sorry." I mumbled."I just-"
"Enough is ENOUGH" Mom said. "Grandma Lou is coming today and you would be staying in your bedroom until dinner! After dinner, you'll go back to your room. Your punishment will end tomorrow."
"No please Mom please." I stared at her"please not when Grandma Lou is here".
Grandma Lou was my favorite. She is not like other Grandmas who just cook. She plays with us and she talks about life when she was our age. She also is really funny and cook great food (especially cookies) and make up the best stories ever! For Mandy, my little sister. Not me. I hate books.
"I hate to give you this punishment, but you made me do it" mom said.
This is how my day became a bad day.
