Cecilia sat alone and sipped her espresso pretending it was her Aunt's fine Italian wine she occasionally let her sip on New Years and Christmas. The sharp bitterness reflected her mood towards the brilliantly handsome young man who had promised her a night of romance but gave her a night of misery. I can't believe him! If all boys in America are like this then I'm not entirely sure I want to go out with any of them! She thought to herself.
"Hey miss. Do you want to order anything else yet? Or are ya still waiting on someone?" Cat asks her smile never wavering.
"I'm not that hungry. And he's not coming." Cecilia sighs her heart falling.
"Oh, he's not worth any effort if he decides to ignore a beauty like you. You can do so much better. What's your name?" Cat asks plopping down in the seat across from her.
"I'm Cecilia." She replies grinning.
"That's a really pretty name. My full name is Catarina but my nickname is Cat." The other girl smiles. "I'll go get you a refill then we can talk about the jerk who stood you up."
Cecilia smiles to herself thinking she has made a friend. But then all of a sudden...
"Hey babe sorry I'm late traffic was awful." The familiar looking boy replies taking the seat that Cat occupied only moments ago.
"Just go with it, yeah. The jackass that stood you up, doesn't deserve any more of your time." He whispers just so she can hear.
