The top tiptoe masters were rather upset that someone had tiptoed thru a transcript, leaving muddy toe prints all over drawings of Nancy and Sluggo. It was especially upsetting when it appeared to show that Nancy had once been an axe murderer.

It turned out that it had been Nancibelle Hoggington who had been the axe murderer, but mud had covered up all the letters of the name after "Nanc..." Nancibelle Hoggington's story was so horrible, that anyone who had heard it, never repeated it, nor wrote it down.

Except for Crumbolt Slivverbaum, who had written the transcript that had been tiptoed thru. Now Nancy was forced to denounce the rumors that had quickly spread, before the truth had been revealed.
