Name: Emrys of the Willow
Guild: Selesnya
Race: Dryad
Age: 22
Gender: Tree. Though she identifies as female.
Appearance: Young for her species, Emrys stands at an unimpressive five feet (and half an inch) tall. She has yet to develop the more humanoid appearance of some of the older members of her species, so her skin is more like bark, and is a deep brown with scattered patches of moss. Her hair couldn't really be described as hair, it's more like little twos and branches that protrude outward from her head (like a crown, she likes to think.) When she gets older who hopes to look like some of the other willow dryads she knows, with long flowing willow leaves for hair and soft brown skin. Her ears are pointed, and she has bright green eyes that glow whenever she performs a healing spell. She spends most of her time sleeping in her tree, and so she doesn't wear much along the lines of clothing when she emerges. Not that that really matters, she doesn't have anything to cover. She's a tree.
Personality: Emrys is very quiet and shy. She is still young, much younger than most of the dryads in Selesnya, because her species is thinning (less trees are being planted, less new dryads are being born). Thanks to this age gap, she has a hard time feeling as connected to her community as she would like. Still, she works hard to fulfill her role in Mat'Selesnya's great plan. Once a month Emrys is sent to speak to the gateless to invite them to welcome the voice of nature into their hearts (some of the elders believed it would be good to have a younger person speak and attempt to reach the masses in a way the older generation was too out of touch to do.) She loves her monthly trips outside of Selesnya territory, as it gives her a chance to see and experience new things. Despite her shyness, she is very curious and loves to try as many new things as she can, some of her favorite memories are the tour she took of a goblin workshop (even though one of the goblins attempted to set her on fire.) and the boat ride she took with a ragtag group of merfolk (she also learned that day that yes, it is possible for a dryad to get sea-sick.) As far as magical ability goes, Emrys's talent is very limited. She has a very strong gift healing magic, however she can only heal others through contact with her tears. (She once considered keeping vials on hand so when she ever cried late at night about how useless she is, she could bottle them up for use at a later time.) She also has very weak manipulation of the flora around her, in the sense that she can convince it to grow and move, though not usually in the way she wants. Her hope is that with age, this skill will improve. It is certainly not an ability that would serve her well in combat. For that, she prefers a bow and arrows.
