Name: Vellatovarin Tempus ('Vella' to those who know her)
Guild: The Golgari Swarm
Race: Originally a human but was infected with Vampirism five years ago.
Age: Physically 24, actually 29
Gender: Female
Appearance: Some might call Vella beautiful, but it's hard to do that when her resting face is one of cold indifference. She may smile, laugh even at times, but her eyes remain as emotionless as the night, and she's careful to never show her fanged teeth. For five years, her eyes have gradually been turning red, but she tries to abstain from drinking blood so the change is only noticed by a very perceptible few. Her skin is quite pale, due to the fact that direct sunlight, especially during midday, is harmful to her, but she tends to use cosmetics to give herself a more natural pallour.
Her attire consists of leather and furs, easy enough to move in while not too revealing, and her only piece of jewellery is a necklace chain with what looks to be a small bracelet attached. She despises dresses or anything else that restricts movement, and will refuse to wear anything that isn't black. Usually, she'll wear a cloak that helps hide the dozens of weapons she has hidden on her person, of which even a trained eye would only be able to spot a few.
She's not the kind of woman you'd choose to rob should she walk down a dark alleyway, unless you happen to be blind, in which case, whoever told you it was a good idea to be a robber was an imbecile.
Personality: (I realise this is less 'personality' and more 'backstory' :/ ) Vella wasn't always a member of the Golgari Swarm, so she doesn't feel at home there. Her abnormally powerful magic doesn't help her fit in either, but that's the least of her worries. She's slightly paranoid, and assumes the worst in everyone, a trait that she developed when working as an assassin for the House Dimir. When she ascended the ranks of Dimir, (or descended, I guess), Vella was sent on missions that had devastating effects on Ravinca, but Lazav assumed it was safe because of the telepathic wards he had put in place. Usually, assassins of the Dimir lose all memory of their contracts after they carry them out, but not Vella. With the help of an artefact stolen from Lazav himself, and her own black magic, she could resist Lazav's memory-erasing spells, and he decided killing her was much safer. A group of vampires were sent to do the job, but Vella managed to get away, not before contracting Vampirism however. She despises the fact that she's a vampire and abstains from drinking blood. This has slowed her transformation into a vampire, but it has negative effects on her health and magic.
After escaping Dimir, she was taken in by the Golgari Swarm, who used her as their own assassin. She has more respect for the Golgari, however, since their virtues are slightly less selfish than Dimir's. She still has, and will probably always have an intense hatred for any member of the Dimir.
