They were married three weeks later.

Marcus arrived to represent the family and since Anya wanted it as quiet as possible, the only attendants were the bride and groom, Nicolette, Chadwick and uncle Marcus who coached the pewee baseball team. Every single woman watched him. The man was the spitting image of his father. He was polite, reserved and Nick was sure Anya would rather marry his brother than him.

He smiled at Anya, "You look more beautiful each day, sweet Anya," Marcus said when he knew his brother was within earshot.

Anya's face completely turned red. "Er, Marcus, would you like some more wine?" she asked as she lifted the bottle.

"No, because when I look in your eyes, I am already drunk with the desire for you," he said suggestively.

With that, Anya laughed and refilled his glass. "Who is this man?" Pam asked.

"Nick's eldest brother Marcus," Anya replied.

"Oh my, he is like the ultimate gentleman," Pam said as she watched Marcus move with elegant grace.

Nick looked at Anya, she was looking at his brother dreamily. "He is already married, Anya." he said sourly.

"Darling, I'll have Lucas start on your pool. Your daughter is hinting she wants a pool. I've spoken with Lucas and we have agreed on a design and the depths. Everything's been taken care of." Marcus said as he sat next to her during one of the dinners before the wedding.

Anya gave Marcus a surprise look then her gaze shifted to her daughter who was innocently nibbling on a carrot. Something was up, Nicolette hated carrots with a passion. "Nick, honey, are you aware of this?" Anya asked.

Nick saw the gleam in her eyes, Marcus was up to something and he didn't care how much he was going to spend on something to prove a point. "No, sweetheart, I didn't know."

"Your brother is opening a can of worms," Anya whispered.

Pam nudged her friend, "Your brother-in-law is asking for trouble. Nick will get jealous of Lucas."

Anya bit her lower lip, "He has no reason to get jealous."

"Then why is he acting as though he has just swallowed the bitter pill when Marcus mentioned Lucas' name?"

"Possibly because he does not want any form of bad gossip relating to his wife's fidelity. Who wants that kind of bad publicity?" Anya pointed out.

Pam raised her brows, "Infidelity coming from you? You have been loyal and faithful to your feelings thinking that he will come back to you and love you and marry you."

"I never said that, I did hope but he never came for me. Didn't even wondered why I came to him and I was pregnant with his child or who Arthur was," Anya whispered to her friend.

Marcus could hear what the two women were talking about. He had seen Anya that day and she was heavily pregnant. He was about to confront her himself but she she had to give birth inside that cab. He called the paramedics immediately and spoke to the driver. He paid the driver more than the cost of a brand new car and joined Anya in the ambulance.

Nicolette was born with a head full of hair and knew in that moment he was holding his niece. He called his mother and told her what happened as they were driven to the hospital. His mother was immediately overjoyed by what had happened. But Nick was in a difficult time and would get furious at the mere mention of Anya.
