"Mommy! I want to be the walking dead this Halloween! Sheila said Aunt Pam will be doing her make up." Nicolette announced. "There is also going to be a Halloween school dance and I've been elected to help with the decorations."
Nicolette announced during the dinner the following week making her parents exchange looks. "You can help with the preparations but no dance," Nick said. "You can go trick or treating instead."
Nicolette groaned, "Again? Aunt Pam and Uncle Paul go to costume parties each year and mommy, Sheila and I go trick or treating. She never lets us have any of the good candy. She filters our treasure and lets us have the boring ones. Honestly, whose idea is it to make broccoli a candy?"
Nick looked at his wife, "No parties?"
"I am a rather boring person, Nick I use most of my spare time raising your daughter. Now she's growing up, she starts to think I'm a party pooper."
Nicolette slapped her palm on her forehead, "Don't be so dramatic, mommy. You're over thirty five years old and the only man that I know you went out with is my father. Ever since you never went. You could go out socially, mommy. It's not a crime."
Anya shook her head, "I'm happy by myself, honey. If you're determined to become some morbid ghoul be my guest. But you're bot going to ruin your good clothes for your get up. Use the old ones."
"Yes, mommy. Daddy, why don't you take mommy out on a date during Halloween? The town is always holding a masquerade ball," Nicolette said.
But Michelle was coming over to get her fiancé for their annual Halloween bash. Marcus warned her about this. As a matter of fact, Anya had already received the woman's itinerary. It was either fight or flight with her.
"Why not, hon, maybe we can have it for date night," he said and wiggled his brows suggestively.
Recently Nick had become bold in his advances. Although he wasn't violating the contract, but the looks he gave her and the "unconscious" actions while in bed every Wednesday had become worrisome. Sooner or later Anya was going to find herself naked and forcing herself on top of him. "I don't know. You know how I feel about parties without children supervision."
And that meant she did't want to go to adult themes parties with actual adult conversations. "Mommy, you need to get our once in a while. It doesn't have to be Daddy," Nicolette said.
Nick frowned, "And who will she go out with, young lady?"
Nicolette realized she stepped over a boundary, maybe her father wanted to go out with her mother. "You or Uncle Pam, or maybe Uncle Lucas, he always has time for my mommy,"
"I have time for your mother," Nick gritted out.
Nicolette nodded, "I don't know, Daddy, maybe You and I can go trick pr treating. You can go as Dr. Frankenstein, then I will be the monster."
"What is mommy going to do?" he asked sourly.
"Stay home and give the candy away," Anya replied.
Nick scowled at her. "No, Lionel and Amelia can give the candy away. Better yet, you and I go to the party and Amelia can give the candy away and Lionel can go trick or treating with Nicolette."
"Now that is the master plan." Nicolette said happily. "Mommy, you and Daddy cannot know each other's costumes. It should be a secret. Mommy can get dressed in Aunt Sheila's house and daddy here. Then you will have to find out who each other are at the party!"
"Really?" Anya asked amused by her daughter's expression.
"Yes, it's the rule." Nicolette said seriously.
