(a.n. for the fun of it, I decided to do Kiefer's point of view for half of the chapter. You'll see why later.

PS. Sexual content is in this chapter.

Kiefer

Reuniting with Callie after several years felt weird. There was something there.

Something good, however. She and I were really good friends in high school, but after she got with Ben Webber mid junior year, all bets were lost, and she never talked to me again.

Well, until two weeks ago. With everything happening to Rease, she had stayed and been extra supportive. She remembered everything, from my terrible panic attacks to my insomnia. It felt good to have a support system.

And tonight, I wanted to show that to her.

I walk up to the counter at Rite Aid and slide the box of condoms towards the lady.

"Are you?..." The lady looked at me oddly.

"Yes, I'm Kiefe-"

She cuts me off. "No. Is this your first time?"

I nod gingerly as I swipe my rewards card.

"Well, good luck, Mr. Tamberelli?"

"Thanks." I grab the bag and hurry out.

-----

"Lil bro?"

My older brother Craig walks in as I'm taking out the contents of the bag.

"Whoa. You plan on losing it tonight?"

"I think so." I nodded. "But I'm nervous. I hope she doesn't think I'm sloppy or-"

"She won't think that." Craig laughed. "It's lifechanging. It's gonna be weird. As someone who practically has sex all the time, it's really nothing to me."

"This girl means a lot to me, Craig. She's not just some ome-nighter."

My brother shrugs. "Look, Kief; you're gonna be just fine. Don't worry about it. Just be in the moment, and show her how much you love her."

"Okay." I nod. "Thank you."

"But I'm happier that you're using protection." Craig smirks. "I usually pull out, and that ain't smart."

"My health teacher said that wasn't smart either." I snort.

"Get your head out of your ass, Kief. But seriously, good luck."

3 hours later

Callie and I were enjoying a night of movies and popcorn when she suddenly paused the movie.

"Cal, is everything okay?"

She nodded. "Actually, I've never been better."

I cuddle up to her.
