Legal Necessities: I don't own Ninjago, nor do I own the skill it takes to make some good wind-puns.
————————————————*Atop the mountain where the Celestial Clock continues its countdown towards the final battle between light and darkness, the Overlord appears before Lord Garmadon, noting that he seems conflicted. Garmadon denies this, but the Overlord wonders if he is worried about facing his son, who is growing stronger by the day.*
Aia's P.O.V:"Order up: coconut cream pie!" Kai yelled as he shot some coconuts down from a palmtnree on the beach. "Served welldone!"
With the help of his trusty Dragon Sword, he made them explode in the air before they could hit the ground. The boys cheered and Kai grinned confidently. Lloyd was ordered to stay in the camp, because Sensei found it too risky for him to be completely out in the open.
Zane looked impressed even though this had been going on all day. "It is good to have our powers back!"
"You're right!" Jay placed his bare arm on Zane's shoulder. "Aa-and since we've all been working on our witty quips to follow everything we do, I'd say we've to this final battle in the bag!" Or should I say- I'd be shocked if we lose! Haha!"
I sighed. Like the others, I was wearing my beachwear which consisted of a black bathing suit with shorts. I also had Misako tie my hair back in a braid, since I was terrible at doing my own hair. I had no intention of actually going in the water, but wanted to hang out with the team anyways, even though their exposed stomachs made me slightly uncomfortable.
"Your witty quips, Jay. " I muttered. "I'm terrible at making puns."
"Ya, you really are!" Jay laughed even harder. " What's up with that?"
"Enough." Sensei Wu approached us from behind. "Are you trying reveal our hidden location?"
Jay immediately stopped laughing and we all looked at the ground, ashamed of our behaviour.
"Sorry Sensei. "Kai rubbed his neck awkwardly. "We were just practicing our cool, new, elemental blades!"
"And our witty quips!" Jay grinned, making me let ou a frustrated sigh. Their witty quips! I was terrible at everything that had to do with puns.
"Be wary of over-confidence, ninja." Sensei Wu said in a very serious tone. "While it is true that your powers can defeat The Stone Army, only Lloyd alone has the power to defeat Garmadon. When it is all over, then we will see who laughs last."
"Yes, Sensei."Lloyd's P.O.V:
"Every gear is important." Dr. Julien told me as he repaired his Zane's falcon. "If one piece is missing or out of place, the invention won't work!"
He made the final touches on the falcon and smiled when it began to move. "Come now, little one. Time to fly!"
"It is like you ninja." My Uncle suddenly placed his hand on my shoulder as the, now repaired, falcon flew away."You each serve very important roles and are each key part to a magnificent fighting force."
At those words, i felt myself grow sad. "If we're all gears, what if I'm the gear the doesn't work?" I asked. "What if I don't do my part, what if I don't defeat my father? I-I can't defeat my father."
My Uncle placed his hands on my shoulders and looked my in the eyes. "What if, there is no more what if's? The final battle is almost upon us. When that time comes, we will no the answer to 'what if' whether we like it or not."
Nya approached us along with my mother and the ninja.
Nya sent my a sad smile as she stood next to the table in front of me. "I know you don' ant to face your father, but there's no other choice."
"But perhaps there is. " My mother placed a scroll I'd never seen before on the table. " I used to think it was inevitable, but then I found this."
"You mean maybe Lloyd doesn't have to face his father?" Aia asked hopefully, and I was happy that she cared.
My mother nodded and unrolled the scroll on to the table. "The scroll say that when the Helmet of Darkness is bequeathed to it's rightful owner, the Celestial Clock will count down to the activation of an unspeakable weapon. The first sign that the battle between good and evil has begun."
"Did you just say 'unspeakable weapon'?" Kai asked confused.
Jay nodded. "Yeah, I'm still stuck on what bequeathed means?"
Cole sighed and smiled at my mother. "Go on, Misako: don't let us interrupt you. How do we stop the final battle?"
"There is nothing here that explains what would happen if the Helmet of Darkness returned to the Celestial Clock." My mom stated.
"Interesting." Sensei stroked his beard as if he was in deep thought. "Remove the helmet: the clock startes, put it back: the clock stops."
"And the final battle never starts!" I exclaimed. If there was any chance I wouldn't have to face my father, you could count me in.
"Bequeathed?" Jay asked. "Anyone? Is anyone gonna help me out with that?"
"Eh, that sounds great and all and I know we have our new powers, but-" Kai began. "Do you expect us to get past this whole army and take the helmet of Garmadon's head?"
"My brother is right. " Nya told my mother. "They're good, but they're not that good."
"I know. " My mother said. "And that is why I'm going to do it. I'll just need a little help."
She motioned for the guys to follow her and began explaining her plan. I was going to join them but, as usual, Sensei held my back.
"I'm sorry, Lloyd. " He apologized. "This mission isn't for you."
"But I'm all powered up, I can help!" I complained even though I knew my Uncle was right.
"We musn't let you and your father come face to face yet. "The white-haired man told me. "We're trying to prevent the final battle, not welcome it."
I obeyed his orders and nodded. "Yes, Sensei."
* In Garmadon's camp, the Overlord wonders why some members of the Stone Warriors are manning vehicles around the perimeter of the camp instead of working on the super weapon. Garmadon explains that he's strengthening their defenses, worrying that the newly-empowered Ninja will attempt to avert the prophesied final battle by attacking him. The Overlord suspects that Garmadon's resolve is wavering, but Garmadon furiously asserts that remaking Ninjago in his own image is his only desire - whether or not he has to destroy his own son is irrelevant. Frustrated by the Overlord's concerns, he angrily orders a nearby group of Stone Soldiers to redouble their efforts on the super weapon - above, the Overlord declares "That's the Garmadon I'm counting on..."*
