"He was always there for me..." Anthony's voice was quaky.
"He always will be, Anthony... we will always be. You may barley remember us... but... we remember you." Mari comforted him.
"Is he... here?"
"He..." I was worried about what I should tell him... what if Ian didn't want to see him? But, they were best friends... surely...
"Yea, he's... he's here..." Mari told him before anyone could protest.
"Can I... see him?" Mari and I exchanged looks.
Mari opened her mouth again to speak but I quickly cut her off. "I'll go find him..."
I stepped out of the hospital room and walked down the long, bright hallway until I came to the elevator.
Uh, what was his floor? Oh, that's right... I pressed the buttons in the elevator and waited until I came to Ian's floor again. Walking down the hallway, I recognised his room and walked in.
He was still lying in the bed, not looking tired but a little dazed overall. "Ian...?"
"Hey buddy... what's up?"
I entered the room and sat down next to him. "Uh... in guessing you know... Anthony's awake..."
He adjusted his seating position, tugging slightly at the thin bed sheets on the hospital bed. "Y-yea..."
"Well, he regained consciousness... and he doesn't remember the best part of his life..."
Ian had tears welling up in his eyes. It hurt me to see one of my best friends get his heart broken right In front of me.
"One thing he does remember... is you, Ian." suddenly his expression changed. He was relieved. He laughed a little, wiping away his tears with the back if his hands and smiling. I was so glad for him.
"Anthony... wants to see you..."
"Really? He... he's not mad at me?"
"He... he loves you Ian. You were... And still are his best friend."
His smile grew even wider. "I'm so lucky to have friend like you."
I lent over and hugged him.
"I'll go get him.You wait here." I smiled back.

(Anthony's pov)
It was the strangest feeling... knowing someone and not having any memory of them. This Ian guy... People told me we were best friends.. But, from what I remember...
"Anthony." I snapped out of my daze and looked over at the door. It was Josh.
"I-is he...?"
"Yea... You can come and see him now."
His words both exited and traumatised me. I had no idea what I was feeling. I was so desperate to see the best friend if always known... but so afraid... if I had missed something. What is my previous relationship with him... was not at all
What I hoped it to be now.
Eventually we arrived at Ian's room. Standing outside of his door, I took words of encouragement from my friends behind me. This was it.
Taking a deep breath, I placed my hand in the door-knob and pushed it open.
Laying on the bed in front of me...
Was Ian.
I Instantly recognised his face... as one I loved.
"Ian..." I said softly.
He looked up at me, starring into my eyes.
"A-Anthony...?" Overcome with emotion, I ran over to his bed and flung my arms around him.
We were both crying, though it was hard to explain why.
"A-anthony... do you... do you remember me..?"
"Of corse I remember you, Ian. Your my best friend." I hugged him even tighter. "I love you."
"I... love you too, anthony."
