~ apply sunscreen! people of ALL skin color need to wear sunscreen. apply at least SPF 30 for going in direct sun and SPF 15 every day

~ also apply lip balm that contains sunscreen (at least SPF 30)

~ wear a hat to protect your hair, which can be damaged from being out in the direct sun too long

~ wear sunglasses! they will block out both UVA and UVB rays and decrease cancer around the eyes

~ using a tanning bed will increase your chances of getting skin cancer by 59%. more 2 million people are diagnosed with skin cancer each year. be careful!
