Luna's POV
I closed the door to my old room and walked over to my dresser. I threw on some undergarments and walked over to my closet. I grabbed my favorite silver heels and looked around in my closet for a dress that would match them. I pulled out my royal blue mermaid dress and tried it on.
"Beautiful." Danny said as he walked through the door. I turned around and we walked towards each other.
"Well, look at you." I smiled, placing my hands on his chest. He looked so handsome in his tux.
"Are you ready?" He asked. I smiled and nodded. He held his hand out to me.
"Let's go then." He replied with a smile. I took his hand and we walked out to his car together. He opened the door for me and closed it once I was in the car. He got into the car and took my hand in his, leaning over to kiss me. He held my hand all the way to the restaurant.
When we arrived, the restaurant was already expecting us. They had a table waiting for us to show up.
"You had this planned out already?" I asked Danny as we sat down at our table. He nodded and smiled.
"I planned this a couple weeks ago. I knew that today would be 8 months for us. I actually pay attention to important things like that." Danny replied.
After we finished our meal, we ordered dessert. Danny smiled at me and grabbed my hand under the table as we waited.
"So... You know how I think labels are stupid and don't mean anything, right?" He asked, voice cracking nervously. I tilted my head curiously, not sure where he was going with this.
"Yes, I remember us talking that before." I replied,
"Well I know that it's really important to you, and I think that I'm willing to do anything for the right person." Danny started, gently rubbing my hand with his thumb across my hand as he talked.
"I knew from the first time we kissed that you were the one for me. I've been so willing to do anything for you and to be open to your beliefs. I don't think that will ever change. You're the only girl I've ever dated, but that doesn't matter to me because I love you more than any guy I've ever been with. I love you more than anything, baby. You're my whole world." He continued. He stood up from his seat and got down on one knee in front of me, grabbing both of my hands and holding them in his own.
"Oh my god!" I gasped as he pulled out a little box from his pocket. I cannot believe this is happening right now.
"I may have thought that marriage was just a piece of paper that means nothing, but I really want to give you that piece of paper because you're the love of my life and I know it means a lot to you. Anyway, I'll stop rambling. What I'm trying to say is... Will you marry me, Luna?" Danny asked, smiling with tears in his eyes.
"Yes! Yes, of course I'll marry you, Danny! I love you so fucking much!" I screamed and hugged him as he stood up. I kissed him and squealed a little. Everyone in the restaurant was clapping for us. He held up my left hand and slid the ring onto it.
"This is so beautiful, Danny! When did you get this?" I asked, looking at it lovingly.
"I bought it on the way to my show last weekend. I left really early just to go get it." He replied with a huge smile. I kissed him again and hugged him. Finally, we sat back down and our dessert arrived.
"I cannot believe that just happened." I giggled as we ate.
"I can't believe I actually had the balls to do it!" Danny exclaimed and we both laughed.
Danny's POV
Back at home, we changed into more comfortable clothes and sat down on the couch. I turned on Pandora and stood up. I took her hands in mine, standing her up.
"Dance with me." I said, pulling her out to the middle of the living room floor as Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol came on. She put her hands around my neck and I put mine on her hips.
"I can't wait to be able to call you my wife." I said quietly.
"I can't wait either, baby." She replied. She lay her head on my chest and we rocked back and forth for what seemed like hours. What a perfect way to end a beyond perfect evening.
