Demon Vampire

Syluss stood there, frustrated. Damn vampires he thought to himself. He shook his head, irritated by the vampire's dramatic exit. Why do they always do that? He wondered to himself. They were strange and honorable creatures. Syluss had to admit, he was out of his comfort zone. He was used to dealing with other demons, not blood sucking don juans.

 He knew better than to tell him the real reason he needed to take possession of a human. He knew better that to ever reveal the whole truth; especially to someone you did not know well enough to trust. Even though Syluss was a demon, his reasoning was of the purest kind.

He did not go to other demons for help because they would be of no use for his current mission. He also knew if he showed any sign of emotion, they were sure to be cruel, they were demons after all. They did not understand emotions or sympathy of any kind.

They were ruthless; they did not know the meaning of mercy. They could not understand his pain. Years ago, in the underworld he was content with his existence. He had the only thing he had ever wanted. 

                         He had the one thing that made his miserable existence tolerable, he had his Jayelle.  He was fine with everything; it felt as if he were on earth living a good life until fate intervened. The angels of forgiveness had decided for her crimes as a human, she had been punished long enough. Jayelle was immediately reincarnated back on earth.

Syluss had been plotting for years now on how to get to her, just to see her even if she didn't know who he was, just to look upon her soul for a moment was all he wanted. If she were a happily married woman, so be it. He would go, his essence forever destroyed. There was a slim chance that she was not attached to another yet.

 He had nothing but hope to go on. He hoped the vampire would help him; he hated waiting to find out. He had been waiting over twenty five years to be reunited with his one true love, the only other spirit he had ever cared about, his sweet, dark princess, Jayelle.
