Demon Vampire

chapter 6

A few nights later after much consideration, Romerio went out in search of the demon. He wasn't hard to find. Underworld creatures gave off a faint scent, only detected by other creatures that understood the path of darkness. He had easily found the demon's cave dwelling within an hour of tracing it. Syluss was quite surprised to find the vampire standing before him in the cave. For a moment he stared at the vampire wondering if he was really standing there ready to help him with this desperate mission.

"Have you decided to help me out?" Syluss asked him in a stern tone.

"I have questions, of course."

"Alright, fire away." Syluss invited him.

"Why?"

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me, demon. Why."

"What do you care?"

"Answer me you underworld parasite." The vampire demanded of him,  if he wanted help.

"I need to know I have your up most secrecy if I do tell you." Syluss replied.

"I need to know this isn't a demonic take over, you would be cutting into my food supply." Romerio replied.

"Is that what you think I want?"

"Would you just tell me already?" The vampire's patience grew thin during this charade. He hated this little song and dance.  If you want something just spit it out.

Syluss knew he had no other option he had to tell the vampire the truth, and show him the only weakness he had- his love for Jayelle. He gave the vampire the saddest look he'd seen in decades, before he spoke of his true intentions.

"I need to possess a human in order to find someone, important to me."

"Who is it?" The vampire asked, this situation had parked his curiosity.

Syluss was aggravated; he did not want to have to tell the vampire any more than he needed to know. The vampire already knew too much. He also knew the vampire was under no obligation to help him. He had no choice and he knew it, he sat down in the cave and started talking to Romerio as if he were a friend.

"Long ago, my soul mate was sent to the underworld as punishment for her mortal sins, I have never been born on earth. For some reason the angel of mercy decided she had paid her debt and was reincarnated. "Syluss took a breath and paused for a long moment.

 "I want to possess a human you will turn for me, so that I may see that her life is okay. I don't want to upset her life on earth, just see that she isn't in any danger." Syluss looked at the vampire hoping he would understand.

The vampire simply paced the small cave, as the demon became more aggravated by the moment waiting to see what Romerio had to say.
