"It's just amazing up here, Syluss. It almost seems like something unreal, in a dream or something."

"I thought you would like it up here." He commented and gave her a little smile. He was fighting the urge to just do it, turn her and be done with it. Romerio had warned him in one of their talks, that human women were delicate, you needed to be patient with them. He was trying, but each night it was harder than the last. He could not help an unknown force within him that made him think of nothing but sinking his teeth into her. He needed to make her immortal to complete the entire mission.

He shook the thoughts away, before he really did just do it. He wanted to ease into this, to be gentle with her. He did not want to scare her away from him or cause humanity issues. He did not really comprehend any of it very well, but he wanted to keep her happy. So he played the nice guy for as long as he had to. He was desperately trying to keep the charade up, but he did not know how much longer he could do it. It was agonizing, he wanted to just blurt it out to her but he didn't want her to run in terror.

He needed to tell her that he was a vampire but he needed to make sure she was completely in love with him, that she would be willing to be turned to be with him. She loved every moment they spent together.

She started wanting to go to the caves more often. Over the next several months it went on like this, until one night he could not keep it from her anymore. He had no choice, being in the human world was starting to affect him. He would normally take what he wanted when he wanted it. He did not do the gentle, good natured thing. Katrine was beginning to change something in him. He was still a ruthless demon, just a little softer than he used to be. If it were over anything else he would not stand for it. When it came to his dark enchantress, he would do anything to ensure him happiness and wellbeing. That night he took her to the caves as he always did. He snuggled with her under the twinkling lights of the stars in the blackened sky. He waited a few moments, enjoying one last look, possibly one last kiss before he told her of his immortal nature.

He just hoped that she would understand, if there were another way, then so be it. The truth of it was, there was no other way. He wanted to be done with it, take her his queen of nocturnal embrace, and travel this realm, enjoy an eternity with his mate. He gazed at the stars with her, for just a little longer. It was nice, one of the few pleasures of the mortal realm. He looked from the stars then to Katrine once more. He began a simple exercise to read her thoughts. He wanted to make sure it was the right time for this little talk. He was afraid that he would screw this up, Syluss underworld demon afraid of a conversation. He wanted to laugh at the thought.

"Thank you for bringing me up here, I really like the view." Katrine commented.

"You are very welcome my dear." He replied, gazing at her. He was content he had his only love. He was trying to think of just the right words, he had to be delicate with matters of this nature. He was still getting to know Katrine, of this life. He assumed she would say yes to immortality, but he had no guarantee. He could only hope that it would go well. He didn't want to think about it going badly. He knew it would be fine.

Katrine turned, seeing that he was deep in thought, kissed him once more. She knew there was more to him than it seemed. She just did not know what she was sensing. It was probably nothing; she was probably just fantasizing again. She had been doing that a lot more often lately. It felt as if she were in some kind of spiritual fog, as if her spirit were in a trance. She looked at him then asked him the strangest question.

"Do you believe in past lives, Syluss?" She waited for his reply. It had caught him off guard. He thought for a few minutes before answering her.

"I would have to say so, yes. Why do you ask my sweet?"
