We leap from tree to tree as fast as we could in order to catch up with Blade or else it'll be too late. We covered our scents to prevent ourselves to be detected. Kaito and I are ahead and the protection squad stayed behind. They'll be watching from the shadows. I landed swiftly just in time for the wolves to corner and attack Blade. They're running at Blade's pace circling him. I can sense from our bond that he knows he's cornered. I have to keep my mind and emotions to a minimum so that Blade won't sense me. The darkness I saw from Jake is heading closer and closer.
"Junbi o suru. Watashi no kaunto de(Get ready. On my count.)" I said. Right when Blade ran past the tree I was on, the other wolves followed charging at him.
"Imasugu(Now)!" I shout and all of us landed on the wolves. There were at least five of them and each of them got killed right when we land on them. I removed my sword from the dead wolf's head and the others are either paralysed or killed by Kaito and the others. I search the perimeter for Jake but he is nowhere in sight. Where is that sneak?
"Sakini susunde kudasai. Watashitachiha hokanohito o torinozokimasu (Go on ahead. We'll get rid of the leftovers.)" Kaito calls out. I gave him a thumbs up and went ahead. I sense Blade is near and so is Jake. He must have known that we're on to his plan. Is he planning on killing Blade by himself? I snarl. Not on my watch. When I reached the end of the trail, Blade is no where to be seen.
"You're very fast, little one." Someone whispers behind me. I leaped just in time when someone's sharp claws penetrated through the tree I was on. My body landed swiftly onto the ground and I stood up facing Jake in his full glory. He smirks as he removes his hand from the tree.
"Impressive."
Even with the disguise, he still knows that it's me.
"We share the same darkness, Atsuko. Compared to mine, yours is much more favourable." he answers and licks his lips. My feet took a few steps back. The dark cloak reappears before him and it slowly materialised into that man I saw from the other night. He looks like a normal man in his mid-thirties. He smirks and took a step in front of me.
"I believe we met a few years back with your dragon in mid-air." He says adjusting the clothes on himself. Jake remains silent but kept his smirk plastered on his face.
"Ah, you must've forgotten about it. Pity. Let me adjust your memory then." Once he said that, my defences went on high alert just when he spreads his arms. His back had two lumps like something is about to explode from it. Kaito contacted me silently that they're on their way but I signal them to stay where they are. This is about to get bloody. The man's back sprouted dark wings. Those are the darkest wings I've ever seen and it somehow triggered something in my mind.
"Y-You..!" no words could explain what I'm feeling right now. He's the man that was responsible for the missing passengers on board the airplane! It was all a game for him and his girlfriend. All they wanted was to mess with the humans. I didn't remember much about the mission since Reign and I was there to distract his minions. It was a crucial mission when the Queen personally came to us for help.
