"It's a little late isn't it?" My voice echoed in the almost empty room.
Steve stopped pummeling the punch bag and turned to face me. "Could say the same to you." He replied, a sweet smile present on his face.
I shrugged sitting down on the weights bench. "Been a long day that's for sure."
He looked at me concerned. "We know about the memories." My face fell, it hurt to think about. I felt the super solider sit down next to me.
"Today I watched my Mother die because I wasn't faster enough to run." Tears began to fall from my eyes. I'd been trying so hard to hold it together, but my heart ached so much. Steve wrapped his arm around my shoulder, I buried myself into his chest. "I watched my own father insert me with some unstable serum and watch me in pain for some stupid experiment. I watched him let people stab me with objects to see if I'd bleed." I let more tears fall. "But the thing is I didn't just watch him or watch her, I relived the memory. Felt the pain first hand, felt my heart break over and over again. I felt the starvation of being trapped in a box for days. Those images and feelings are never going to leave me now. They're there forever. I-I'm not sure if knowing is better than not k-nowing" I hugged him tightly like a comfort blanket.
"It hurts losing the ones you love, trust me I know. I watched my best friend die, I outlived the girl I loved." He paused staring me straight in the eyes. "Those memories we hold of them, good or bad, are the most important things in the world. They allow us to be stronger, to fight for what is right." His voice dropped to a whisper. "They allow us to continue to be a better person and you're one brilliant person Emilia Taylor don't you ever forget that." He finished smiling. I nodded feeling myself move closer towards him.
My body tingled with anticipation as our faces drew nearer one another. I felt his eyes drift down to my lips, like he was unsure of what to do.
Eventually the waiting was too much and I pulled him to me, our lips colliding. My whole body erupted into an explosion of sparks. The lights above us flickered as he pushed himself onto me more. We moved completely in time, caught up in the moment. I lay down pulling him down with me as it got heated, and I mean literally heated, he was on fire.
"Shit Steve!" I pulled away as he continued kissing my neck.
"Mmm what is it." He replied unaware.
"No stop! you're on fire." I hit his shirt with my hands trying to stop the growing flames.
"Shit Shit Shit!" He jumped up and down attempting to get rid of it.
"Jumping agravates the heat, take your shirt off!" He quickly pulled the bit of sizzling material off, getting it kind of stuck on the way over his head. I began to laugh as the Captain ran around. Until eventually he untangled himself and stamped the orange flames out. By this point I was crying with laughter.
"Fire 1, Rogers 0." I said still in hyserics.
"And you couldn't of given me a hand there?" He asked smiling.
I shook my head. "You were having far too much fun."
He walked back over placing a soft kiss on my lips. "May I walk the Lady to her room?" He asked in the most apppauling english accent I've ever heard.
I laughed even more "If one wishes to, one shall allow it."

"Knock knock." I stood by the entrance where Bruce was working on something.
"Oh hey Em, you need something?" He asked putting the funny shaped object down.
"I was wondering if I could borrow a microscope. I wanna look at this."
I placed the tube of red liquid on his desk."Your blood?" He questioned.
"Yeah, the brunette medic sent it, kind of intrigued." He threw me a lab coat to put on.
"Stuff you'll need is in the second cupboard across and first drawer down. Call me if you need a hand." I thanked him heading over to the corner of the room.
My hands started working as if by themselves. Following a step by step memory list.
"Morning-Emilia? Are you lost?" Starks delightful sarcasm filled the room.
"Thank you Stark, I think you'll find I know exactly where I am and what I'm doing." I could feel his smirk on me as I continued to work.
"Just try not to set anything on fire. My training room suffered enough torment last night." I froze, he so knew. "I'm cool with it as long as you don't have sex in the places the rest of us have to work next time."
I picked up rubber bung and lit it with a flame before throwing it at his head. "We did not have sex you pervert!"
"Ouch, this sort of violence is why you didn't have sex. Fire isn't the answer to everything." I threw another one at smug twat this time hitting him in the glasses.
"Right that was uncalled for." He said sternly realigning his glasses.
"You know what I'm not even going to ask." Bruce said raising his hands in the air.
"Dear little Emilia Taylor here is fucking our Cap." The scientist raised his eyebrows slightly surprised by Tony's comment.
"For goodness sake we have not slept together! It was one...two kisses." I replied rolling my eyes.
"Glad you're happy Em, it's your business, nobody else's." Bruce added quietly.
"Thank you Bruce." I put my middle finger up at Stark who retaliated by sticking his tongue out.
The room was silent as we all carried out our work, with the occasional conversation between Jarvis and Tony.
That was until a loud bleeping noise broke the silence. "Jarvis wants happening?" The billionaire asked, standing up quickly.
"Mission Sir, a HYDRA raid." Banner grabbed a bag from under the table before moving towards the door.
"Urg last time we did this it hurt, a lot." I moaned switching off the telescope and following them.
"Come on firework, shut up and suit up." Stark said exiting the lab behind me, as we all made for the quinjet.
