Here We Go

I got up at 4 this morning, to put my bag into the jet without arising suspicion. It had all my essentials in it. Fake passport, driving licence, my burner phone, 1000 euros in cash, maps, a nice collection of knives, change of clothes and a toothbrush. As well as a small blanket just incase I have to sleep rough. I've spent so many months on run in my life that it becomes second nature. I knew exactly what to pack, I know exactly how to move around without being found, I also know people all around europe who would help me in a heartbeat.

So far I've planned my route from where our HYDRA raid would be taking place near Paris to Chamonix, where I last saw my Mother. It would take around 10 hours if I was in a car, but I didn't have a car. Walking would take around a week, that's including sleep and rest time. My best bet would be hitchhiking. The only problem is I was going to have to avoid the motorways, major cities, traffic lights, all in order to escape cameras. The only thing that I know for sure about this next week is that it's not going to be easy.

I pulled my suit on over my leggings and t-shirt. Usually I'd wear shorts in order to not overheat but shorts were in practical to be on the run in. having my legs out draws too much attention from the male sex.

The phone rang again.

"C'est Lia." I answered, I always initially spoke I french on my Nokia phone, that way only those I wanted to talk to would know how to reply.

"Just rang to say good luck, contact me when you reach Chamonix."

"Merci, je vais." I replied smiling at my best friends voice.

"Remember Lia, don't get your hopes up too much, there's still a chance it's not her." Finn sounded concerned.

"Je connais."

I hung up the phone. I knew there was a chance it wasn't her, but I really wanted it to be her. That's why I had to do this, I needed to know the truth. Letting out a sigh, I slipped on my trainers and grabbed my favourite knife before taking one last look at the room which had been more of a home to me than anywhere else in my life. A sigh escaped my lips as my feet carried me out the flat and into the lift.

-

"Morning firework." Tony greeted as I entered the buzzing Lab. He was tweeking his wrist control thing with a screwdriver.

"Hi, have you seen Cap anywhere?" I rotated on the spot searching for my handsome spangles. Banner was carrying a blanket and a change of clothes into the Jet which was perched outside ready to go. Natasha was clipping an extra gun onto what looks to be a new thigh holster and Thor was tying his hair into that iconic half up, half down look.

"He's in the quin ready to go with Barton." Tony replied standing up.

"Thanks Stark." I shouted jogging off.

I walked into the black jet, Agent Maria Hill was in conversation with Clint. She had her important person clipboard solidly in her hand. Steve was studying a map of the base.

"Good morning." I greeted kissing him on the cheek.

He looked up at me and smiled. "Damn that uniform really does make you look more peng." I almost choked with laughter as he said the word peng. "What did I say it wrong?" He asked confused.

I shook my head laughing even more. "No no, just wasn't expecting it."

His confused expression dropped. "Oh okay, anyway how you feeling?" I felt slightly squirmy as he said this, remembering my embarrassing moment I had yesterday.

"I'm fine thanks." He nodded. My eyes drifted to my watch. "One minute till take off, shall we rally the troops?"

-

"Four minutes until landing Cap!" Stark called from the pilots seat. I stood up allowing my legs to stretch out a bit. The journey had been a long one.

"Okay everyone listen up. On arrival Stark and Em you're going to go straight into the forest to the drainpipe tunnel entrance. Romanoff, Barton you are gonna take out the guard station surrounding their path to the pipe. This will trigger alarms, that's when Thor, Banner and I hit up the base to distract everyone while you two disable the buildings shield and grab the Scepta if it's there. Got it?" There was a round of quiet replies as everyone was taking in one last scan of the map. I pushed my butterflies away. People scattered off to grab weapons, I walked over to Steve.

"Good luck kiss?" He questioned as the jet glided to a the ground. I nodded standing on my tiptoes and allowing him to pull me into him. My lips melted into his for a solid 30 seconds.

"Okay lovebirds, that's enough we have a mission to complete." Stark shouted, breaking us up. My heart sank, it would most likely be our last kiss for a while.

"See you on the other side." He whispered in my ear just before I sprinted off following Stark. As me and the Metal Man ran I couldn't help feeling like an awful person. But I was too far in to change plans now. I was just going to have to live with the guilt.

-

"This is it." Tony said yanking open the rusty lid. I was pulling two bullets out of my arm.

"I really hate guns." I groaned, wiping my bloody hands down my suit.

"You did kind of run into it." Stark said chuckling.

"Shut up, and get your ass down that hole." I retorted shoving the billionaire towards the dark, mouldy, blackness.

"I'm going, I'm going!" He jumped flying cleanly down in his suit. I stared at the empty drop.

"Right so how am I meant to do this?"

"Jump!" His voice came out echoey in the tube.

"I'll break my fucking legs!" I yelled back in a half whisper, as I was trying not to attract too much attention to our whereabouts.

"That's the plan!" I hated Tony.
Taking a deep breath I closed my eyes and stepped forward, allowing the floor to disappear beneath me.
I swear I was falling for like 3 minutes but to be fair it was probably only like two seconds. Instead of hitting the hard ground I hit some trunks of hard metal. "How kind of you to catch me." I sarcastically replied hopping out his arms.

"You retard, I didn't think you would actually jump." He said shaking his head.

"Whatever lets just get out of this shithole." I threw back, lighting my hands with fire balls for light.

BANG

The wall of stone exploded into pieces. Tony lay over me, even though I was invincible he still shielded me from the debris that was raining down.
Once the dust had cleared all that remained was a mangled broken metal rungs which probably would have been a ladder to above ground.
I felt Stark take the weight of my feet as we both burst through the metal circle, the cover flipping open against the concrete floor with a huge crash. T-dog placed me down to about 10 HYDRA agents stood watching us in pure surprise.

"I think this is the bit where you shoot." I whispered to the one who seemed to be their captain. He realised his situation finally reached for his gun. "Oops too slow!" I sent him flying backwards 1000 volts of electricity running through his body.
