This happens when Percy has passed out for a few days after he defeated the minotaur. This is Annabeth's first impression of him.(p.s sorry if some of this is inaccurate. I read the lighting thief a long time ago and I don't remember all of it.) sorry :/

-------------------------------------------------------

I just watched the whole thing. I must say I was impressed with the boy's skills. Or maybe it was dumb luck. Either way he survived the Minotaur and he was passed out at my feet in the rain. "He is the one. He has to be." I said. "Hush Annabeth. Get him inside." He said. "Uh ok. What about Grover?" I asked. Chiron looked back at me. "Bring him to my office. There is something I must discuss with him when he gains conciseness." Then Chiron left me alone with the two boys in the rain. I didn't want to ask for help. I didn't want him to think I was weak. I dragged Grover and that other boy halfway. As I was passing by my friend Luke castellan saw me struggling. "Hey, you need help?" I dropped the two unconscious boys, as I took a few shaky breaths. "Yeah. That would be highly appreciated." I said. Luke flung Grover over his shoulder. "Food." Grover muttered. I cradled the other boy in my arms bridal style. He nearly slipped out of my arms as I walked up the hill.

He did a bunch of weird things in his sleep. He moved, smiled, talked, and worst of all drooled. He drooled all over my shirt. Luke set Grover in Chiron's office. I walked into a spare room and flopped the boy on the bed. I looked down at my shirt. Big stain. Drool. Gross! Luke came in to check on me. "You ok?" "Yeah, yeah I'm fine." I said. Sitting at the foot of the bed, removing all the hair from the boy's face. "So you're going to meet me at sparring practice right?" "Yeah. I'll see you then." I said. As Luke walked out he ran into Chiron. "How's he doing?" "He hasn't done really anything yet. He's just giggled, drooled and said 'mom' over and over." I said. Chiron looked down. "Yes the poor boy just lost his mother." He said. I could relate.

My mother was never around. She's Athena, goddess of wisdom by the way. I stroked the boy's hair lightly. "What's his name? Do you know?" "Yes. Perseus Jackson. But he goes by Percy." Percy. I would remember that name. "Ok." I said. "Do you mind nursing him with ambrosia and nectar?" "Uh no I don't mind." I said. Chiron handed me two small baggies full of ambrosia and nectar. I took them and Chiron walked away. Percy's mouth was already open as if he just expected someone to feed him. I cupped the baggie around his mouth and his mouth overflowed with nectar. Then one swallow at a time all the nectar was gone. I took a deep breath.

I was curious about Percy. I wanted answers. Where did he come from? How old was he? And most importantly was he single? I shouldn't solely base my feelings on looks. But just the way he looked... he looked like he was scent straight from Olympus or the underworld with all his scratches and bruises.

The next day I quickly ran out and brought back some first aid supplies to clean up his wounds. He had a nasty cut on his arm. I was blotching it with a cotton ball and Neosporin when he stared to groan. "Ouch." He mumbled. I hushed him. "This will help." I said quietly. I grabbed a tea mug full of nectar and a plate with a tiny square of ambrosia on it. "Here try these." I whispered. Percy opened his mouth and down the hatch. "Mom?" Percy asked. "Shhhhh! Just rest." I mumbled. I could tell he was a real mamma's boy. That was sweet. I'd never really had a good relationship with my family. I felt bad that this poor innocent boy had to be separated with his mom. I mean he never asked for this life. Then again none of us did. All we could do is hope that everything would be ok.
