Chapter Five//the past
Nathaniel Parker breathes in the cold and misty air of the Ohio morning. He sighs to himself and carries his bag to the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon that belongs to his best friend Drew. He opens the very back door and puts his bag into the back. He looks and sees that it has sank down more after that but he knows he didn't put that much into the bag itself.
He turns around and then shrieks out a yelp as a bloody mask of Jason is staring bavk at him breathing slowly.
The person underneath the mask laughs and takes it off, "relax Nate. It's just me." His other friend , Levi, says as he puts the mask in the back of the car.
Nate takes it from the back of the car and shoves it to Levi's chest "you are not and i repeat not taking that with us on the trip."
"You are just scared of it and that's why you don't want to take it," Levi says back and then twirls the mask around on his hand.
Nate chuckles and lies, "whatever I wasn't scared of the mask. You are just hearing things."
Suddenly their friend Austin who is also taking the trip comes up with his bag and shoves it in the back. "We all heard it Nate dont be so afraid of a little innocent mask."
Naye gets furious and then exclaims in a soft voice, "I wasn't afraid. It just made me jump a little is all." He readjusted his tank top shirt as he defended himself.
Then Drew came around the car and laughs, "bro we all heard the scream you let out. I am pretty sure it was loud enough that the whole neighborhood heard it."
Drew puts his bag and the cooler in the back of the car.
Nate shoves through them to go back inside the house to get the fishing poles and tackle box.
Austin follows him as Levi and Drew get in the car.
"Don't worry about all the teasing Nate. We are just joking around with you," Austin states as he goes to the kitchen and grabs the bigger cooler.
Nate gets his fishing pole and turns to Austin when he gets back to the kitchen area, "well I guess I knew that half way." He chuckles even though deep inside he feels like he knows they weren't.
Austin and Nate gets out of the house and then brings all of the stuff to the car. Nate goes back to the house and locks it all up.
He doesn't know why it was such a good idea to rent a house with his bandmates in the first place. Nate was usually the one that would get all the crap handed to him. Even though sometimes Austin had it too. But Nate was more of the quiet one. Austin knew how to give the crap right back at them.
Nate walks back to the Jeep and Austin had already put the stuff away by the time he got there. All of them were excited for the trip. It was their first time being off from tour in a long time and honestly Nate hated the feeling of being on tour. It was not only stressful and very tiring it also took Nate away from the little thing he thought mattered the most.
Which was family.
He thought all his fans were family to him because they gave him and The Tide a chance but he also knew deep down it wasn't the same. He wanted space from the boys every once in while. And just space from everything.
He opened the passenger side back door and got in. He buckles his seat belt and then he hears the familiar song Snap Your fingers. He shook his head. He instantly thought it is way too loud and second it was way to early to play such a precised and upbeat song.
