On the outside they are anything but your stereotypical nerd; they hang with the 'cool' kids and tend to get up to no good. In class they ignore the teachers, chat away about trivial things and generally don't seem to be that intelligent. But on the inside, they are in love with education.
They spend hours at home devouring books on everything from quantum physics to the history of twentieth century China. Of course they never tell people that their favourite past time is playing board games, but sometimes their 'cool' facade slips and you see their true character.
I always think it's really sad when people feel the need to cover up who they really are. When you can, you engage in an intellectual conversation with this person and you see their eyes light up slightly. We see you, don't worry.
