Jay's POV

"Holy Mother of Arceus!" In a panic I over shot the chair I had been sleeping on and landed face first on the floor. "Ow."

"Shut up!" Alan launched a pillow at my face as I sat upright, he rolled over and buried his face deeper into the couch, dragging a blanket along with him.

"Oh yeah, that's definitely how you're supposed to react to someone having a near heart attack." I tossed the pillow back at him. With a sigh he rolled back over, clutching the pillow I'd thrown to his chest, still looking half asleep, but at least he seemed concerned.

"Tell Alan what's wrong," he said in baby-talk. I grabbed my shoe and lobbed it at his head. He blocked with his pillow. "Come on, man. What's wrong? You look like you had a nightmare. Tell me about it."

"Why do you care?" I frowned.

"You're going to make me come over there, aren't you?" He groaned. "Fine." Tumbling off the couch with a thud he rolled over until he was laying on his back staring up at me. "Tell Alan all."

"What are you? My fairy godmother?" I kicked him away and tried crawling back onto the chair I'd fallen off except Alan latched onto my leg.

"Dude, seriously. SPEAK TO ME," he crooned and dragged me off the chair.

"Arceus! Okay! Just let go of me you oaf!" He let go and sat across from me. I stretched my legs out in front of me and stared off to the side wondering where to start. It wasn't so easy explaining a dream. It was even harder trying to explain a nightmare: it was mostly how you woke up feeling rather than what actually happened. "Martin from the cave was there."

Alan nodded and pulled a pillow off the couch behind him, laying it across his lap. His Minun hopped off the top of the couch and sprawled across it, Alan tickling his tummy with a small smile. "I'm listening."

"We were at your place, in Veilstone, we'd been running around after this weird underground organization, trying to get back some Pokemon they'd kidnapped."

       "Was it Team Galactic?"

"No, man. Shut up. We split up," I started poking at Minun's stomach too, making the tiny mouse Pokemon giggle and squirm. "When we met back at your house, Kris still wasn't there and I was going to go back out and find her, but that's when Martin came out of the shadows holding her in a headlock. Sort of."

"What do you mean "sort of"?" Alan frowned. "Was he restraining her with an arm around her throat or not?"

"Not. He had his arm wrapped around her neck, but he was like cupping the side of her face and," I looked Alan in the eyes. "She was smiling."

Silence. Then Alan had the gall to bust out laughing, startling Minun into my lap for safety as he started rolling on the floor clutching his sides.

"What?" I growled, kicking his shin.

"Ow!" At least he stopped rolling and laughing, but a big stupid grin was still plastered on his face. "You like Kris, don't you?"

"What?" I must have had a pretty stupid expression on my face because he started rolling and hollering in laughter again.

"SHUT IT, SPAZOID!" Only Arceus knows how Sam managed to hit Alan in the head with one of her shoes from around the corner of a wall across the hall.

"OW!" He said unnecessarily loud. "How would you like it if I pelted shoes at you?!"

Actual three year olds: Alan and Sam.

       "Focus!" I slapped Alan.

"Abuse! Why am I getting abused?!"

"I haven't finished!" I shouted in his face. That calmed him down really quick.

       "Go on," he said.

"Martin started laughing and then he kissed Kris. After that he said," I made my voice low and gruff, a deliberately horrible imitation of his voice. "He said: She'll never love you. With your flat personality and lack of character depth. She's been through loss you've never known and done things you wouldn't have the balls to do. And I fell backwards and that's when I woke up."

Alan opened and closed his mouth like he was going to say something, then bit his lip with his cheeks puffing up like an irritated Jigglypuff.

       "Say something!" I ordered impatiently.

He released a breath. "It seems to me you have some insecurities about yourself. Also, YOU HAVE A CRUSH ON KRIS! YOU HAVE A CRUSH ON KRIS!" He sang.

"Alan." Sam stood in the doorway her hair was messed up from sleeping and her shirt hung at the wrong angles, she'd slipped into yoga pants at some point too. She looked like a bum, but the murderous gleam in her eyes had me crawling out the door and down the stairs.

All I heard next was a lot of shouting and scuffling, then I was out the door and in the middle of a Pokemon battle with a funnel of water streamlining for my face.

Charles's POV

"How? HOW?! How could she be in the same place?!" I stomped up a number of stairs just outside Mt. Coronet- the beige colored stairs that were falling apart but led up to an altar once used for the Pokemon of Space and Time. "Gah! Focus, Charlie!" I stopped. Only one person had ever called me Charlie and I had yelled at her for it. I could still remember the smile she put on as she kept repeating it. "FOCUS!" I roared.

FOCUS, the mountain range shouted back, fading into the distance.

"Need to save Cloud," I mumbled. "Need to save Cloud." I sat down hard on the stairs and curled around my knees. How was I ever supposed to get him back on my own. "I need help," I whispered.

She popped back in my head. Smiling and offering a hand.

"I can't see you again," I choked. "Not after all I've done. You'll never forgive me." I held back the tears, rocking back and forth, solving nothing.

Another face popped in my head: an angry purple haired, recently appointed lieutenant. Bianca. She glared at me with such disgust and her last words to me just rang sweetly around my mind somehow saying much more; she'd called me an asshole. So maybe it was time to take that title and own it. I needed help? I was going to go and get it.

"Just you wait, Cloud," I spoke to the air. "I'll find you."

Author's Note: I... What was I going to say.... Oh! I have extensive plans that will put me out of commission the next five days. If you're lucky and I'm feeling nice, I'll update with another part before my brief sabbatical.

I know there wasn't much action to this chapter, but, hey, that's life.
