"That's it. I'm gonna kill her." Sam had already knocked out one of the Team X members, Pokemon included.
"Oh, come on. You always say that!" Alan rolled his eyes as he dealt with the other grunt.
"This time I mean it. I'm really going to kill her." Sam landed a punch on Alan's guard as he tried to charge Alan after his Pokemon were wiped out.
"POKEMON!" Kris screamed from wherever she was in the base. Yes, it only took Alan and Sam six lines of that song to take out the grunts, Kris had reached the refrain and I could hear just enough to pick out Alan's Gengar singing backup. "IT'S YOU AND ME! I KNOW IT'S MY DESTINY!"
"POKEMON!" I joined in.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?!" Sam hollered as Alan clamped his hands over his ears.
"Marco Polo!" Rebecca's face lit up and she skipped to my side.
"Why do we even call it that?" Ken asked miserably.
"OHHHHHH! YOU'RE MY BEST FRIEND!" Kris took the bait.
"What?" Sam hissed, growing more irritated by the second.
"We're gonna play Marco Polo in order to find Kristen," Rebecca explained. "It'll not only keep the grunts on their toes looking for us, but we also won't get lost on our way to her because she'll be trying to find us, too. Brilliant, right? I can't believe she came up with something so clever!"
"I'd stake all 48 of my badges on her singing because she wanted to and NOT some clever ruse to help us locate her," Sam snarled, starting to walk in the direction where Kris's voice was clearest. I rolled my eyes until my focus landed on Alan and he gave me a mischevious grin: we were thinking the same thing and were willing to pay the price of Sam wanting our asses on a plaque for our action.
"IN A WORLD WE MUST DEFEND!" Both of us charged around Sam and took the lead from her. A brief slice of air passed by my ear as she tried to grab me in an attempt to brutally murder me for singing along.
"POKEMON!" Rebecca sang behind us, Sam releasing curses upon us as we raced through the base for our missing companion.
From somewhere else inside the base~
"A HEART SO TRUEEEEE! OUR COURAGE WILL PULL US THROUGH!"
Gengar
Alan, save me from her!!
"Don't whine! It ruins the song. Sing!" My purple orb of light had taken a shape much different from the spherical one I had grown used to: still mostly like a sphere, but now he was growing little stubs that looked like limbs and he might have been developing eyes. Not that it bothered me, I now had something to grab onto and could spin my companion around as we danced down through the mystical cave. "You're not singingggg!"
Gengar
Where's a shiny object when you need one?!
"Shiny object?! Where!?" I whirled around squinting my eyes for anything with a bright sparkly aura until I found a steel door down a small tunnel to my right with a strange yellow light shining out from under the door. "Mine!"
Surprisingly, the door opened of it's own volition and, with the ever growing purple orb's stub of a limb in my hand, I skipped in towards the source of the dazzle. Beneath a layer of illumination sat a manila folder with the word "Confidential" stamped at an angle on it. Without questioning why the folder was glowing- it was probably because it was a quest item and I was on a quest- I snatched up the folder.
