Age 16

Calum was sitting in the living room with Kennedy while Ashton had ran to the store. As soon as she heard Ashton pull out of the driveway everything went down.

"Ok Calum, I'm gonna get right to the point. I know you like Ashton cause Carmen told me. So don't try to deny it. You need to stay away from him. He is mine, he gets me whatever I want and for some reason I make him happy and it's gonna stay that way so back off." She shoves him away, her weirdly long nails scratching his arms.

"But-" He starts.

"Don't you get it! Ashton. Will. Never. Like. You." Kennedy spits at him.

Tears threaten to spill over his eyes knowing that he will have to stay away from Ashton or Kennedy will get worse and when she said Ashton will never like him, it shattered his heart hearing someone actually say it.

He just nods running out of the room and up to the guest room as tears spill down his cheeks. He didn't understand what he had done to Kennedy and he was just overwhelmed at the moment. He felt everything all at once

Betrayal because Carmen told Kennedy

Anger because Kennedy was a horrible person to him

Sadness because Ashton would never like him

Frustrated because of everything.

He simply sat on the bed thoughts racing around in his head. He was almost ready to head home when the guest room door opened.

"Cally? You in here?" Ashton asks opening the door.

Calum desperately rubs his eyes trying to get the tears to be unnoticeable. But like always Ashton sees right through that.

"Are you ok? Why are you crying?" Ashton asks sitting next to his best friend.

"I'm fine." Calum smiles a small smile and avoids eye contact.

"Calum Thomas don't you lie to me." Ashton says sternly.

"I umm- gotta go to soccer practice." Calum says quickly.

"Calum! Sit down! We all know you don't go to practices.

"Oh, haha, right."

"Get talking." Ashton says.

"I just slipped and hurt my ankle." Calum lies horribly.

"Calum Thomas Hood! Stop lying."

"Ok fine. Well uh-"
