-Liam's P.O.V-

I slowly watched her smile at me as I bid her goodbye. She looks so innocent. I couldn't believe how I gathered all that courage to tell her my feelings but I finally did.

To say I love her would only be an understatement. If only there was a word to describe what I feel for her. Her smile, makes my heart beat faster and when she laughs, God! I don't even know how to describe what I feel.

To tell her why I love her would be like trying to explain what water tastes like.

If she only knew.

I finally get her. The way she is always trying to block out everything in front of her. Always suspicious that people are looking down on her.

She gets easily discouraged. Even quick to defend herself even when no one has accused or even made fun of her.

She has a natural outcome of feeling less than others. And I could see that she fears if she does, she would be judged as not good enough.

And the way she is always afraid of rejection, she rather quits than take a chance that getting to the end of things might reveal her to be a fraud or unlovable.

By detaching from all that terrifies her, she settles for being alone. That's why she doesn't know how it feels to be in a relationship. At least then, no one can hurt or make her feel worse about herself than she already does.

But the truth, however, is that we cannot escape our thoughts. Those negative messages continue to play no matter where we are.

And I am going to show her what it feels to be happy. What it feels to be loved. I was also once like her. Insecurities getting the best out of me. But not anymore. I'm finally in her life and I'm going to do whatever it takes to make her forget all her sorrows and to see that beautiful smile on her lips.

Even though it may take a while before she finally admits her feelings for me, I'm still going to take that risk. I'm going to fight for her. Till the very end.

I got distracted when my bedroom door opened. I watched slowly as Sam came in and sat beside me on the edge of the bed.

"Hey." she said with her calm voice as usual.

"Hi. What's up 'lil' sis?" I said trying to imitate her voice.

She punched my arm which didn't hurt but I just loved to exaggerate things.

"Ow! My arm. What was that for?"

"Stop calling me 'lil'. I'm just a year younger than you." she replied.

"But you're still my wittle baby sister." I said with a baby voice."

"Whatever." she said rolling her eyes. "You really love her don't you." she said with a tone of seriousness.

I didn't need to ask who she was talking about because I knew she meant Emma.

"I really do." I honestly replied.

"I know. But take it easy on her. She is a real softie and she has been through a lot in her past. You're my brother, and I love you but she is also like a sister to me, so you better not hurt her." she said giving me a killer glare.

"Samantha! Are you threatening me?" I said jokingly.

She laughed. "Maybe?" she answered.

"Don't worry Sam. I'll never do anything to break or hurt her. I promise."

"I trust you big brother." she said and with that, she went out of the room.

I'll fight for you Emma. I'll win your heart. I promise.
