Chapter 13

I made a small prayer and entered my dad's room. I found him seated on his bed. He ordered me to sit beside him, and that only made my heart beat faster.

"Yes d-dad?" I stammered.

"Princess, I am very disappointed in you."

Oh God.

"I'm not very happy about your grades. What happened princess?" dad looked at me.

I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"I'm sorry dad. I will try all my best to improve."

"Alright, that's my girl." he hugged me and I went back to my room.

I guess dad didn't believe what Ben said. That boy! His so going to pay for that.

I went to the bathroom and just as I came out, my phone started ringing. Liam. I quickly answered the phone and his deep husky voice was heard.

"Hey Emma." he said.

"H-hi Liam. How are you?"

"I'm good. What about you."

"S-same" I really hate stammering but what can I do.

"There is a new restaurant just outside the town, so I was wondering if you would like to come."

"I would love to."

"Great! I'll pick you at 7."

"Sounds like a date."

With that, he hung up. I got really excited. I glanced at the time on my phone and was surprised. Gosh! It's already five. I have to tell mom to help me get ready.

"Mom!" I called out to her.

In less than a minute, she came in looking breathless.

"What? What happened?!" she yelled.

"Liam asked me out on a date and I don't know what to wear or do."

"Code 9" mom whispered.

Mom, Sam and I made codes for girl emergencies such as this one. She quickly sat me on the bed and starting working her magic on my make-up and hair. I quickly got my phone out from my jeans pocket and texted Sam.

Me: Sam, code 9!!

Sam: Ok I'll be there in a jiffy!

Me: Okay.

In moment's time, Sam came running into my room with so many beautiful different dresses. Did I forget to mention that my best friend has a thing for dresses?

Her brown eyes met my blue ones and she gave me a smirk. Mom and Sam finished preparing me in an hour and I got to admit, they did a pretty great job!

"Wow! I can't even recognize myself. Thanks guys." I hugged them both.

"Awe your welcome Emma." they both replied.

Just in time, I heard a car's engine halt and I assumed it to be Liam. I quickly put on a light perfume as the finishing touch. I bid Mom and Sam a goodbye and ran out of the house.

Immediately I opened the door, I found Liam standing in front of me. He gave me a smile which made my knees go weak. I let a breath I didn't know I was holding and I returned the smile.

"You're looking extremely gorgeous my lady." he said and kissed my hand. My cheeks turned flaming red.

"Not as handsome as you are right now." I replied.

He looked up at me and laughed. I held his hand and our fingers intertwined. We reached his car and he immediately opened the door for me. He got in and drove off.
