Ali's POV

Today's the day we can bring Emily home. I'm so excited, I can barely stand it. I've been dying to see her face again even though she doesn't remember me. I've decided to not despair about this because I am determined to believe that this is just another bump in the road to our eventual happiness.

Finally I hear a honk in the driveway and soon see Aria, Hanna, and Spencer's waiting for me in the car. Jumping in the car I greet the ladies and say, " I can't believe we can bring her home already. I'm so glad she agreed to let us take care of her". "That's very true. We all have the plan down pat right guys? We're taking Em back to her apartment to recover some more. We all will alternate taking her to doctors appointments and therapy. Ali will be her main caregiver and will stay with her at Em's apartment till she's fine on her own". "Yes Spence, we've gone over this a million times. Now let's go get Em,"snapped Hanna.

Within minutes, we arrived at the hospital. I tried to hide my excitement as I knocked on her hospital room door. As we filed into the room, we saw Em dressed and waiting in a wheelchair, just looking out the window. Timidly I said, "Hello Emily. My name's Alison. This is Hannah, Aria, and Spencer. We're here to take you back to your apartment and help you recuperate". With a simple, half smile she said, "Hi guys. Thank you. My bag is on the table over there". And with that, we were headed home.

The car ride to Emily's apartment was very quiet. She mainly just looked out the window, taking in her environment like it was brand new to her. I wonder what she's thinking and feeling right now. I have so many things I want to ask her and say to her but I know she must have far more questions to ask us.

Fumbling with the keys, Aria finally opens the door and says, "Welcome home. This is your apartment". Emily hesitated at the doorway before she finally walked in and started looking around her apartment like it was the first time she'd been in it. We all kind of just watched silently as she became reacquainted with her own apartment. We all stood there silently, just waiting for the next thing she'd say to us. "These trophies and medals...  are they all mine," she inquired. "Yes. Every single one of them and then some. Those are just all that could fit there. You're an excellent swimmer. You were a competitive swimmer in college too. That's where you got your degree in Sports Management. You were training for Olympic qualifiers before you were admitted into the hospital" replied Hanna. Emily just nodded and took in everything she just heard. "And these " she gestured toward a shelf full of books and cookbooks. "You were learning how to cook. You practically used to burn water. The rest of those are books from Alison,"replied Aria. The joke managed to get Emily to laugh and she smiled, looked at me, and said, "Why did you give me all of these books? Did I even read them?" "I'm a English teacher so I love books. I read all the time so you always wanted to know what I was so enthralled with so you read every single one of them after I finished them" I said with a proud smile across my face. Again, Emily flashed a half smile and continued to appear deep in thought. "Is there anything else you think I should know about my apartment or me in general? Cause I have so many questions but I want to take this slowly " she said with a great deal of concern across her face. It was all clearly becoming very overwhelming because she sat down on the couch, rubbing her temples. Spencer sat down next to her, rubbed her shoudler, and explained, "I can't even imagine what you are going through right now. But please know that we are practically your family and we love you so much. I know you don't remember that, but we do. We are here to help you heal and hopefully regain your memory. If you need anything, we will drop everything. Alison is going to stay with you because the doctor mandated there be someone here with you till you're better. She will be more than happy to answer any questions you have. The rest of us will leave now to give you some time to rest and get a better feel for your place". Spencer's words calmed Emily tremendously. Soon after, the girls left and it was just me and the love of my life alone once more.
