"We're here!"
Caroline squealed, something she always did when she was overexcited.
"Finely!"
Caroline had a huge smile on her face. She'd been talking about this trip before, but I didn't expect her to talk about the trip itself during the trip. She was my best friend, sure, but sometimes, she needed to be less obvious. I think everyone had noticed we were pumped, because we got a lot of stares. I was happy to finely set foot on London ground. We had been looking forward to this trip for a long time. Since march actually, and it was already summer break. We were getting pushed by the crowd so I dragged her to the side to check if we had all our luggage.
"I think we got everything."
"Good, because I wasn't planning on getting on that Eurostar again for a while!"
I smiled and rolled my eyes. Caroline and I were here on to relax, and of course to try and spot some people we fangirl about aka One Direction. When I got interested in something and I would tell her, she would look it up and be even more excited than I was, then I got more excited, then she got and so on. It sure is fun to fangirl with two!
As we were carrying our luggage and looking for the exit, I could faintly hear her sing 'Everything about you'. I quietly sang along.
We both had big smiles on our faces when we entered the hostel. We checked in and unpacked. Our parents had quite a say in our vacation plans, Caroline's parents especially. Eventually, they let us go with the usual speech about not going with strangers, staying together, etc. I think the closeness of UK and Belgium helped. All we had to do was take the Eurostar from Brussels to London, which was a piece of cake.
"Can I sleep here?"
I put my last shirt in the closet, turned around and saw she had put all her luggage on one bed and she was laying on the other.
"Where would I be sleeping then?"
"The floor."
She tried to stay serious but failed. She laughed softly. It reminded me of our main reason of being here, trying to catch a glimpse of one of the One Direction boys, and I felt my heart beat faster, making me laugh too.
"Move over."
"I don't want to, it's too comfortable!"
"Move!"
I pushed her off the bed and jumped on it. I wondered how we would ever be able to get out of it. Neither of us were morning people, though it didn't really matter. I was at the place I wanted to be, to see the people I wanted to see, with the girl I wanted to see them with.
"Brontë! Don't you fall asleep!"
I heard right before I felt a pillow hit my head. It kind of hurt, so I grabbed the other side of the pillow and started to pull it. She let go so I fell on my back again.
"Let's get out of this place! I'm starving!"
"Where do you want to go?"
"Nando's."
We started giggling and fangirling memories flooded all my other thoughts. She grabbed our coats and wallets and waited for me.
"Hurry up!"
I put my coat on. We had already checked where the nearest Nando's would be, and it wasn't that far. We knew which underground to take, so off we went. I already knew what to order. I had visited their website several times, just to see what Niall might take when he went there. He was my favorite, with his eyes to drown in. When he talked about waiting for his princess, no fangirl would be able to resist dreaming of being that girl, myself included. It was all useless though. I wasn't even sure I'd ever be able to see him in person, let alone date him.
As we were finishing dinner, I saw Caroline smiling because of her full stomach. Until she suddenly seemed rather shocked and started to breathe faster, like she wanted to scream. I asked her what was wrong and she signaled that I had to be quiet and be patient. She looked over my shoulder and whispered excitedly.
"Is that Niall Horan or am I going crazy?"
I turned my head and looked around. I didn't see a certain blond haired boy. When I turned to face her again, I didn't even have to ask.
"He is holding sunglasses. He's ordering now. The guy in a gray hoodie. He-"
Then I heard a laugh. No doubt. That was his laugh.
I started to breathe faster and felt my heart race.
"What do we do?"
In school we had asked ourselves the same question over and over again, finding a million things to do. But we agreed on a few things:
1. First impression was the most important one and in this case, probably the only one;
2. We wouldn't scream or try not to at least;
3. We wouldn't lie and try to act as if we didn't know them at all, just to get their attention;
4. We would try not to fangirl too much in front of them.
But we didn't know what we would do. I saw Niall paying and taking his food. We decided that we would ask for an autograph.
"This might be our only chance to actually talk to one of them," Caroline whispered.
Nervously we walked after him. We caught up with him as he walked out the door.
I looked at Caroline, she looked at me. I quickly made clear to her that I was too nervous to talk sense. She rolled her eyes, took a deep breath and put a smile on her face.
"Niall?"
