Eldstone rose from his bed.
The evening moonlight seeped into his room. The wooden table laying against the wall had numerous objects on it. The other table had his clothes. He looked to the wooden walls. Hanging on a peg was his cloak. Attached to the cloak was a hood.
He slipped on the black cloak.
Tonight would be the night.
He left his room looking across at Barton's.
Eldstone stayed stealthy. The snuck around the wooden gates watching out for the night patrol Guardsmen. There! Before him was a hole he had dug when he was a cub. Barlick never ordered for it to be patched up.
Eldstone crawled through the hole. He then ran down the grass hill to the path leading to the town. In his hand he held a hook made of wood and rope.
The town was silent. Lights flickered on the wall. Each house was silent. No lights within them, no noise, only darkness. Guardsmen paroled the streets.
Eldstone stood before the orphanage. He looked around. He then threw up the hook. It clinged to the window ledge. He pulled on it. He then preceded to walk up the house. He slipped through the open window.
Bunkbeds were scattered in the room. Cubs snored softly.
In the back corner was Louy. His wings rested against the bed frame. Eldstone walked over nudging him slightly. "Wake up, wake up." He whispered.
Louy opened his eyes. "Arg. Why did I sign up for this again?" Louy got out of bed. He then went into a separate room getting changed. Moments later the two boys used the hook to get back down. The two navigated the streets.
"I hope this is worth it." Louy said.
I hope so to.
The two boys then ran. Their feet moving them swiftly. Pine trees started to take over as they ran farther into the forest. Louy's claws scraped against the tiny rocks.
The cave was insight.
"Eldstone, maybe we should reconsider this? We saw it. Great. Now lets head back." Louy gestured with his wings. The cave entrance was light with torches. The inside being covered with black curtain.
"Louy, come on! Don't worry. We will be back soon."
Louy grunted. "Fine."
The tan and white saber tooth tiger pushed the curtain aside. The peregrine falcon followed behind. As the two stepped down the stone steps a heavy force landed on Eldstone's back.
Louy squawked with horror making him fall onto his back.
"Get off!" Eldstone grunted.
"Nice work Tisen. For once you listened."
Louy and Eldstone both looked up. A saber tooth tiger stood before them. His redish colored fur exemplified him. His amber eyes glared at Eldstone and Louy. A necklace with a red stone was draped over his tan robes.
Tisen leaped off of Eldstone. His fur was coco brown much like his eyes. The two saber tooth tigers stood. Tisen scratched his muzzle showing off his half missing fang.
"You two both have a lot of explaining." The one with the necklace said.
Louy and Eldstone stood. Eldstone soon realized that standing before him were 10-year-olds. His eyes narrowed. "Where are your parents?"
"We will get to that later. First you need to explain."
