Eldstone and Louy glanced at each other.
Is this some kind of joke? "Its a legitimate question. Answer it." The red colored saber tooth asked. "We were curious about this cave. There, satisfied?" Eldstone growled back.
The two ten-year-olds glanced at each other. The redish colored furred cub eyes narrowed slightly.
"Where are you two from?"
"I'm a royal, and my friend here is a townsperson."
"What is your names?"
"Why are you asking all these questions?"
The young sabar tooth tiger narrowed his eyes again.
"This is essential. Just answer the question!"
Eldstone crossed his arms. "Why is this so essential?"
"You will know if you answer the question!" The young cub barked back. Eldstone sighed. "Fine. My name is Eldstone, prince of Tra and this is Louy." The young cub's amber eyes light up. "They have come! Oh yes! Thank you Dstellers!" Eldstone and Louy glanced at each other in confusion.
Tisen leaped with joy. His pink tongue dropped out of his mouth. He then sprinted away deeper into the cave. "Oh! Come! come!" The young cub said.
Louy and Eldstone shrugged.
"There is much to know. You can call me Toby, by the way." As the three proceeded down the cave Eldstone noticed carvings, vases, and candles. Banners with words and tears were draped on the rock walls.
Darkness started to show as the three walked out the other end of the cave.
The entrance was surrounded by a massive stone wall making a circle. In the center was a meadow with snow. Across from the entrance was another entrance. On the top was a carving of a dancing saber tooth tiger.
"Who is that, on the top?" Eldstone asked.
"A Dsteller." Toby replied. Dsteller... that word.. so faint but familiar...
Toby pushed aside red curtains. The small cave was light with candles surrounding a stone stand. A wooden chair was before it. On the left of the chair was another wooden stand. A bottle of ink was next to a paintbrush.
Tisen stood next to the stone stand. "Go Eldstone." Toby said.
Eldstone glanced at Louy. Louy shrugged.
Eldstone proceeded forward. He stood before the stone pillar. Engraved in the pillar were markings. Tisen grabbed Eldstone's arm. He placed it on the pillar.
Eldstone opened his eyes. Before him was darkness. Where the heck am I!? "Hello?!" He called.
"Quiet, prince." A voice said.
Eldstone narrowed his eyes.
Standing before him was a cougar. His long white robes were clean. His tan fur and starry eyes frightened Eldstone slightly.
"My name is Lester, Head Dsteller of the Dstellers. Listen, prince. You have been chosen by the Dstellers. You must leave your father, brother and town and come train here. For you see, the chain with the Dstellers and Tra has been broken. Your father is responsible for this. You must relink the chain; even if that means moving elsewhere." Lester said his voice stern.
"I can't! I am loyal to my friends and family! I can't just leave. I to important!"
"Are you really though? I know you saw pity for those Townspeople. This your chance! Do you want Tra to fall? Tra needs you! The Guardians aren't here anymore to help preserve the chain. Well, not all of them, two remain. The choice is yours.. choose wisely.." Lester then turned walking away.
Eldstone sighed.
Eldstone opened his eyes. He fell back panting. Toby and Louy ran over.
Eldstone looked up at Louy.
"What did they say Eldstone?" Louy asked.
"They.. they.. want me to stay." Louy stepped back.
Louy looked outside. Dawn was approaching. "I have to head back."
Eldstone stood. He sighed. He walked to the entrance, peering outside. He could hear Tra, the groaning and coughing, the arguments.
"I'm staying. I can't watch any longer." Eldstone said.
Louy stood thinking. "I can't either. Goodbye, Orphanage."
Toby and Tisen smiled. Toby crossed his arms. "Good choice."
Please don't let this be for nothing..
