HARRY
The rest of the trip went surprisingly well. Anxiety ridden, but better than we both had expected. We saw all the good things and did everything worth spending money on. We even rode the London Eye, even though Liv kept refusing because she hates heights - Ferris wheels especially. But she kissed me when we were at the top, and her lips still shivered like we were brand new.
We didn't mention that day again. We both knew I didn't mean what I said and we were both tired, but it left a giant elephant in the room. She talked on the phone with a lot of people, Emma mostly but also a lot of police officers.
On the plane home, Liv slept. Well, she pretended to be asleep at least. She had hardly slept the whole time we were in London, which means I didn't either. But her head in my lap and her arm wrapped around mine, her fingers slowly tracing my forearm was enough to keep me sane. The plane landed and when Liv stood up she stretched, her shirt going up her stomach and her little baby belly showing. I smiled, I couldn't help it. We've been gone for three weeks and she's changed so much. We've changed so much.
"I have terrible heart burn," Liv sighed as we packed up the car.
"That's normal, I did research on the plane. Our baby has reflexes now." The car was freezing, the snow a sudden surprise for us.
"I just need water." She dug a bottle out of her purse and chugged it, sighing.
"I know you want to see Emma, but why don't we go start packing up the rest of your stuff and take it home?" I suggested, placing my hand over her thigh comfortingly. She nodded slowly, her legs moving around so she was more comfortable.
Emma has been staying at her aunt's house, who was completely loving and sane. Liv loved it because she was closer to our apartment, but she hates it because she has to switch schools. Emma won't be seeing Liv anymore, but is always welcome at our apartment with open arms. I pulled into Liv's dorm and we walked in together. Anna greeted us all with a hug and Livi was trying so hard to be happy.
Anna and Liv talked about the trip while I neatly put all of Liv's stuff in bags, carrying it outside in multiple trips. We said goodbye to Anna and got back home. I carried in all of our stuff through the freezing cold and told Liv to go lie down. On my last trip, I walked into the living room and Livi was asleep, along with Junior on her lap. Junior didn't run when he saw me, either. He just went back to sleep.
I put my clothes away and started clearing some space out for Liv, but I was tired too. Jet lag is terrible, and I wanted to just go sleep with her but there are things that needed to be done. I need to look for a job, I need to start cleaning my unused room to make a nursery, I need to get my things together for school in four days. I honestly have no fucking clue where to start, so I just did what was most important.
The local book store had a job opening for $16 an hour, and good hours. It will be weird to not be around Liv and at home as much but we definitely need the money with a little one on the way. I called and scheduled an interview, and they were ready for me tomorrow. I sighed, running my hands through my hair.
Next, I called the doctor and made an appointment to find out the gender for tomorrow morning before my interview. I was pissed when we got a guy gynecologist, but he looks at like a million vaginas a day so I don't need to worry.
I walked into the living room and Liv was still passed out. She'll have a tough time falling asleep tonight since it's already five, but I don't want to be the one to wake her up. Walking through the kitchen, I made my way into the dirty extra bedroom. It's literally a fucking wreck in here, but in six months a baby will be sleeping in here. Fucking crazy.
