Rose
The kiss becomes deeper. Tesfaye snakes his arm around my waist and pulls me closer and I wrap my arms around his neck.
After a couple of minutes, I pull away, feeling slightly breathless. For some odd reason, I suddenly feel shy. I bite my lip. "Um," I say unsteadily. "That was . . ." I trail of, not knowing what to say.
"Something I've been wanting to do for ages," Tesfaye finishes off and I look up at him and laugh. He leans in and kisses me again. He pulls away from me when my phone starts ringing.
I sigh and fish out my phone from my pocket. My mum is calling. I answer it. "Hey mum," I say.
"Rose, I'm running late," she tells me. "I won't make it home in time for dinner."
Tesfaye starts kissing at my neck. My breathing starts to get heavier, but I try to make it sound normal.
"Um," I say, distracted by Tesfaye. "That's fine. I'll just order a pizza or something."
"Okay, darling," mum says. "I'll see you later."
"Okay," I say. "Bye." I end the call and Tesfaye starts to kiss me again, more aggressively this time. "Whoa," I say. "Easy, tiger." I feel him smile against my lips.
He picks me up and carries me to the sofa. When he lays me down, he climbs on top of me and starts kissing me again. I wrap my legs around him. He starts kissing at my neck, leaving a trail of wet kisses. I tilt my head up, exposing more of my neck for him to kiss. My hands slide under his shirt, over his back. He rolls us over, so I'm on top of him. I eagerly attack his lips, hardly breathing. When I'm about to take my top off, he grabs my hand.
"Whats wrong?" I frown.
"I don't want to move too fast," he answers.
I look at him as if he's stupid. "What?" I ask.
"Youre only seventeen, Rose," he starts to say. I climb off him and smooth down my hair. "I don't want to rush things."
I shake my head. "You're right," I say, biting my lip. "I mean, it's not like we can even go out together. Maybe we shouldn't do whatever it is this is." I gesture to the both of us.
Tesfaye grabs my hand. "No, no, no!" he says. "I want to. It's just going to be tricky. We just have to wait til you're out of high school."
I roll my eyes and pout. "That's ages away!" I groan.
"Well, we can just keep it low key for now," Tesfaye tells me. "We can still see each other." He winks at me. "It's a good thing I only live across the street from you."
I kiss his cheek. "It's a damn good thing for sure, Tesfaye," I say.
He hides a smile. "Tesfaye?" he echoes. "You know you can call me, Abel, right?"
"Sure thing, Tesfaye," I say and he grins and kisses me.
"Hmmm," he says, stroking my cheek. "How am I going to keep my hands to myself now?"
"Or take your eyes off me," I add and then laugh.
"It's sure gonna be hard," Tesfaye - Abel says. He kisses me again and we fall back on the sofa.
This is honestly the happiest I've been in ages. I hope it lasts.
